How reliable is Wayfair pre-approval ?

I went to Wayfair and used the SCT and at the check out it said I am pre-approved for Wayfair credit card. I did not pull the trigger. How reliable is their pre-approval. I know pre-approval does not mean a guaranteed approval but I am curious what are the chances of approval and does being a customer of Wayfair makes any difference in approval process ?

A denial is pretty rare with comenity, but if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be applying.

I am not sure if I want to apply for it. DW is thinking about getting a Room Airconditioner. I am thinking it might make a good Mothers Day gift for her. To be honest, I am not sure if I want to get Wayfair Card to pay for it, I am not even sure if I want to buy at Wayfair. I have to shop around other stores and see where I can find a good price for the right unit.

I did open a card with wayfair recently, I figured they would give me something like $500 limit (purchase was 450 ish)...ended up with $2,500.00 with a not great score. Credit Card or not, I would't dismiss Wayfair for shopping, they have an amazing selection at good prices, and amazing customer service. I have not heard of anybody being unhappy with purchases from them.

Those preapprovals are pretty solid....now whether it turns into a hp or sp is a ymmv. The cl's can be a wow or a boo too.

Well its time to say. You just got 2 secured cards and now up to 5 secured. Time to stop apping and let them age No more apps for a year. Gotta stop and let the seeds grow man.

No. I am not apping. It said I am pre-approved but I am not taking chances and not apping for 1 more year as FireMedic1 suggested.

I did SCT about 3 weeks ago. Instant SP approval for $3500 SL. On a lark I hit the CLI button a week ago and they added another $800 on (total CL of $4300). Prices are good. Customer service is outstanding. And when you use their card for a certain amount there are different payment options available. I went with the 12 months no interest.

Hi @Anonymous, Thank you very much for your input and sharing your experiences with them. I know Wayfair is a very good company and the sell quality products. Couple of months ago one of my former colleague took a management job with Wayfair and moved to Boston. I can reach out to him some time for favors. I am not applying for the Wayfair Credit Card now. I am going wait 12 months and then evaluate my credit situation and figure out what steps to take. Right now I am foucsing on cleaning up my report and get rid off collections and COs and let my secured cards and unsecured cards grow and mature.

I got a pre-approval pop-up from using the app. Sat on it a couple of days because (1) I was afraid of a HP, and (2) I was afraid of a HP and denial. Bit the bullet and made my LO cross their fingers, and about 4.5 seconds later: $750. As of now, it looks like a SP (<24hrs).

Exp 683 but thin profile.

Cap1 Secured $220 w/ $18 balance... HP 2/19 and just reported for the first time 4/16.

2 defaulted student loans I'm paying on right now.

ETA: I was not able to get pre-qualified for ANY CC (Credit One even denied me) while I was just window shopping. Not that I thought I would get anything, but that's enough for me to believe that Wayfair's pretty lax.

Thanks! I'm debating on whether I should accept Children's Place or if I should just hold off. I shop at both, but I haven't seen a solid answer on starting too many retail cards at once.
