The best trifecta?

In you opinion who has the best trifecta? Wells Fargo, Chase, or Amex? I would like to know people's opinion on this.

I'll throw in a fourth option: BofA Premium with two BofA Cash Rewards cards at Platinum Honors.

I'd go with that or Schwab Platinum + BBP + maybe Gold.

*I'm sure US Bank fans can make a good case, too.

It depends on your goals and which cards you think make up the trifecta! If you want aspirational travel (e.g. premium cabin international flights) hard to do on a smallish spend without transferable points, ruling Wells Fargo out. Chase vs Amex is often discussed here, and that depends on your spending patterns and potential travel partners (if you plan to transfer).

Also, what's the magic about "trifecta" Some will find two cards in a group perfectly adequate, others will want more than 3.

That would be the DC, Premier, and Prestige, presumably.

I feel the answer to the OP is definitely dependent on your goals too. The earn rates are all roughly similar, but I think Chase/Amex win most just based on the value of UR/MR.

Forward + Prestige + Premier was popular for a long time. 5x points at Amazon on Forward translated to 8% towards AA revenue flights (albeit with reduced mileage earning).

How about the Navy Federal exacta?

More Rewards - 3x on restaurants, supermarkets, gas, transit
Flagship Rewards - 3x on travel, 2x on everything else

Even more simple... the AOD one-fecta?

VISA Signature - 3% cash back on everything

I'm not sure how far you'd have to go back for the terms to have any clear meaning!

On the UR side, you could take out the newer CSR, CFU, Ink Preferred, and Ink Unlimited. That leaves CSP, CF, and Ink Cash...but there might be some overlap between the newer cards and the old Ink Bold.

On the MR side, get rid of ED/EDP and BBP. Take Gold/PRG and Green back to their lower AFs ($55 and $165?) and lower earn rates. Maybe there's a case for Platinum, PRG, and Business Gold?

Mock them all you want (which you shouldn't considering the number of rebuilders on this forum) but I could probably do better with Credit One trifecta than what I'm currently getting from Reserve Trifecta ( CSR, Altitude Reserve, Delta Reserve).

I'm coming out of bk, and so my options are limited, but by the end of the year I'll be using NFCU More Rewards, NFCU Flagship, and filling in with Discover rotating categories. I'm pretty pleased about having such a nice situation so soon after bk.

Yeah the AOD has higher cash back and auto redemption, though the Citi DC has its place being a MC. There's no substitute for it, in certain situations.
