Aerospace FCU (California) issues AFCU Platinum Visa Cash Back card and AFCU Platinum Visa Rewards card with no annual fee and with similar rewards:

-Gas: 5% on $7,000/year, 1% thereafter

-Dining and entertainment: 4% on $9,000/year, 1% thereafter

-Travel purchases: 3% on $12,000/year, 1% thereafter

-All other purchases: 2%

Truity CU credit cards 2 - 3% rewards on everything

Truity CU (Oklahoma) issues these 2 cards:

-Truity CU Signature Rewards Visa card: 3% rewards on everything(with a Truity's advantage checking account), 2% with no account

-Truity CU Platinum Rewards Visa card: 2% rewards on everything (with the checking account), 1% with no account

Assuming they are geofenced for that area only?

Looking at their site, you can join the Truity Educational Foundation for $25, and then join the credit union.

But, to get the 3%, you'd need to park $5,000 in their checking account. Otherwise, 2%, which is good, but there are non-geofenced 2% options already.

That's one good offering! 4 cards for me rolled into one. 5% Penfed, 4% Savor, 3% Wells Fargo/BoA, 2% with PayPal MC.

I agree. The $5,000 parked in their checking kills it for me. Even if you left 5k in a standard 1.5% (going low as there are higher savings/checking) savings you'd get $75 dollars (not including minus taxes) you'd have to spend $6,000 to $7,500 over a 2% card.

It might be worth it for some folks but personally 3% general spend just isn't enough as other cards can do it better for the majority of category spend that I use.

Credit cards issued by Affinity FCU (NJ, NY, CT) with special "5% Cash Back on all purchases" in May and June 2020: Affinity Pure Rewards Visa card and Affinity Cash Rewards Visa Signature card ( regular 5% rewards on Amazon).

So what's the point of listing all the 2% CU's? When so many other commonly available 2% cards like Citi Dc, Fidelity Visa etc exist and when there is literally 1 CU that's approving everyone for a 3% on everything card?

The 3% is still uncharted territory and the uncertainty that it is sustainable make it highly probable to it being nerfed.
