BBVA targeted offer - 4X bonus points on groceries

Another month, another sweet offer from BBVA. Fine print says 4X bonus, 6X includes the fact it's a 2X category for me.

All these offers and still no CLI.

They sure are hard to figure out. It's my only card that always has BT offers and it's the only one that gets targeted offers basically every month yet it is one of my lowest limits. 🤷‍♂️

But as long as they keep sending the targeted offers they'll avoid the SD status that so many of my other cards got.

I received two of these today. One says 5X for the Clear points and the other is 5.5x for my Amex.

Yep I get emails from them multiple times a month actually. They're always updating me on branches and their app and inviting me to check for BT offers, etc.

It matches my BCP. This is I think the fourth time they sent me a targeted offer for groceries in the last year. I have an offer for 5x points on dining activated right now too.

Would it be more beneficial to set your 2x to something else to prompt a different offer perhaps? This is a good offer but just matches what your BCP always gives you (unless the BBVA points are worth more - not familiar).

I'm likely getting rid of the BCP. Can't justify the annual fee.

But groceries and utilities are the only two categories that I consistently spend a decent amount of money in so I set the categories to 3X utilities and 2X groceries. Once I get the Cash+ I'll change my 3X to utilities.

The thing is, BBVA generally seems to target utilities, groceries, and dining with these offers anyway.

They targeted me with 7x points when you use their BBVA Card to buy groceries in store or pick up. Most of the times I go with triple rewards on groceries. I am for more than a year stuck at 2.5k. I never received any cli and I always in full.

You can get around the fence by opening an online checking account with them. But you're in Florida aren't you? Because Florida is one of their actual markets.

Do they have a pre-qual site hidden anywhere? I got a mailer offer a few months ago and never jumped on it. Now I have decided to go back to school online and will be paying the tuition in full myself, so I figure I an open a new account with them to get the SUB and the year of 0% APR, but I would hate to hard pull without knowing my odds.
