I just had to post because, for the first time, I have some card offers under "credit cards", in my Chase online portal. I really would like the UA Explorer card to be my next, but sadly I'm currently at 6/24 until July 2021. And, I mainly want it for its priority boarding.

My "offers" are the Freedom, UA Explorer, and SW Rapid Rewards. Unfortunately they're just offers and not pre-approvals. So I know it's not worth attempting.

Maybe this means they'll give me a pre-approval while over 5/24 soon, when the economy is better and hopefully a better SUB than 40k?

When they put a card in your offers, it usually means 5/24 won't be applied.

I've noticed this as well. I think it might have started on my account a couple weeks ago or so. Mine don't have solid APRs yet, but I'm hoping they will eventually. I will be under 5/24 next month, and I like to pretend that they are getting ready to offer me stuff. The CFU is showing for me and i'm itching for it. If it gets a solid APR, i'll have to decide if I want it badly enough to not wait for a $300 offer.

I understand your itch!

I wished to acquire there card for the same reason AND this was back when they were giving historically high SUB.

Alas, I opted not to and remained undecided.

* Based o n your Sig, someone correct me if I am mistaken, I would keep in mind that Chase likes to give out Total Limits not to much higher than your 50%-60% of your gross income! 😒🤓🤔 - food for tbought.

It seems their offers are coming back. I saw this today as well. I will be under 5/24 in July, so wondered if that had anything to do with it.

I see the SW RR, CFU, CF, Bonvoy, and UE under offers but no pre-approvals.

From Chase's prequal page, I am getting the CFU\CF now though. I didn't a month ago.

When they put a card in your offers, it usually means 5/24 won't be applied.

In order to bypass 5/24 it has to be a pre-approval with set APR, not the 16.49% - 23.49% range.

I truly wish i had been able to get the SUB when it was 60k miles, but it is what it is.

income shouldn't be an issue for approval, however if it were i'd call Recon and have them move $5k from my Boundless to the UA Explorer.

I got those same offers showing up as well but wont pull the trigger on any of them. I am way over 5/24 and dont want to waste another HP lord knows I wasted enough the past couple of years. I only want the WOH card at this point anyways. Best of luck whatever you decide.

I was going to be 4/24 this March, and I ended up at 8/24 in January.

The only thing Chase is going to offer me is a Syncrony card.

The sting is only lessened by the fact they got nothing that I want, but at the same time, I want screenshots for bragging rights.

With the dynamic pricing devaluation probably better to save that 5/24 slot for something else and just pay for Priority boarding a la cart. Here are the reward prices for a one way ticket LAX-SFO in mid-July. Woof. Also of note is that boarding will likely be from back to front for the forseeable future anyhow so being in Group 2 doesn't really mean much.

According to TPG, they were offering 60k SUB for 3k spend in three months from January until a month or two ago. I'm watching for that offer again before pulling the trigger, I wish I had seen it before it expired. Of course, I have no idea when I might fly UA again, so no real hurry.

I won't be flying until later this year, so i have time to get it. Also, by the time i'll really utilize it, will be 2021 so things should be on the way to closer to normal. Also, no other cards are worth the 5/24 slot, as it'll benefit me not just in the short term.

Worst case, i'll get the card in July 2021 when i'm back under 5/24.

I really wanted the card during the 60k SUB, but i was already over 5/24 from the CFU and Platinum. I'm not sure that SUB will be around again, but we can cross our fingers.

I tried for the WoH card last December at 6/24 for S&Gs and was denied. I knew it was 99% chance at denial but wanted to test the waters on a co-branded card and got my answer. It was probably for the best since I wouldn't have gotten to use it this year with things being cancelled and I may not have been able to hit the complete 6 month spend with the pandemic stuff. I also decided it might be best to go with Marriott to bank even more points when coupled with my wife's SPG Amex spend.

I don't know if you fly United anywhere near enough for this to be relevant. The United Club Card, including the revamped one, includes full Premiere Access. This includes check in, boarding, and baggage handling. You can buy the first 2. The Club Card is the only way I know of to get the 3rd without status.

The AF is $0 for the first year. I fly home out of an airport where there's no centurion lounge, and use the United lounge at least once....

I use the baggage credit after I've exhausted my Platinum airline credit... Then it's more than paid for the card's AF. I fly 3-5 times per year, and United most of those. The card definitely makes sense, and will save me money.

The club card AF, however, makes no sense to me as I have access to the centurion lounge.
