Best Balance Transfer Deal Right Now (June/July 2020)

I am looking for either me or my spouse to open a new credit card for balance transfer purposes. Want to avoid balance transfer fees and at least 15 months of 0% on BT. Now that Chase has shut down new apps on the Slate, and Bank of America has stopped offering the BankAmericard, there seems to be limited options out there for 0% BT with no BT fees. I've seen Navy FCU offering 12 months 0% with no BT fee - is this the best deal out there currently?

I found this article on CNBC's site this morning talking about banks really pulling back on BT offers in the last 2 months due to default fears:

Currently have lines >300K total with Chase, BofA, Amex, etc. Looking for at least 20-25K with new card to cycle some 0% balances.

I think the Citi Diamond Preferred is still 21mo on BT, and 12mo on new purchases. After that, the card is nothing special.

Citi's current offerings for BT cards

The Diamond can be PC'd later on.

A good mid sized LOCAL credit union might be a great option.....

NFCU is always hot, too, and BB&T was good to us last year... not sure if their bright cards are still doing 0% BTs or not.

The NFCU Platinum Card is the only one that I can think of at the moment that is more likely to have the starting line you are looking for and no balance transfer fees, but is only for 12 months. There are some cards that might be a crapshoot with starting line and will have 20+ months (Citi, US Bank, Century Bank) but will have BT fees. If you are willing to settle for 12 months and a BT fee, there are still a huge number of cards to choose from.

On snother note, no way this card is getting 20-25k off the bat. Its Citi and even on best profiles the sl is a struggle

I honestly don't think many will provide limit to cover that. Possibly a CU like NFCU.

Thanks for the suggestion - that 5% BT fee is hard to swallow though...

The couple of members here in the past that were approved by them. Got what they asked for. Been a while since I've seen anyone post an approval from them. I know one member got a $50k approval.

BTW they aren't particularly fond of being invited late to the party and aren't afraid to decline an invitation. YMMV.

They have a branch off of River Rd in Andover but if memory serves it's only accessible to Phillips employees.

Andover? If I'm going to Canada (anywhere north of the airport and Revere Beach ) for a credit card, I'll get Amex Cobalt.

I don't have a need for the card right at the moment, but this is certainly something I will seriously consider when BT shuffle time comes back around. Fingers crossed they don't mind the late invite.
