Part of the reason it seems their scores are behind is that they only do an AR once every four months.

If you're pulling your report from AnnualCreditReport.com every week or every few weeks now, you can tell when they've done your AR by looking at the Soft Pull inquires data.... Annoyingly, those *ONLY* show up from AnnualCreditREport.com reports OR if you get a report MAILED to you by the CRA

I've recently requested two CLI with Cap1, first (basspro) was declined and the second (venture one) I don't know yet, although it said "request received" and said it would notify me within 2-3 days in online document center so I'm assuming it will be declined as well. (requested last night)

I noticed on the first request they used my credit score from April, which was much lower (680-ish) than it is now (middle score 763). Also at that time my credit utilization was between 30-50% and now it is at like 5% or less. If this recent request gets declined as well, due to using info from 60+ days ago, how long should I wait before trying again? Should I just wait until they're using July info? Or do I have to wait 6 months from last request? Thanks in advance! Love the board and all of the helpful information.

Cap One always seems to be about 2 months behind with the score on CLI requests. I think I've been trying for maybe 6 years to get a CLI from them. I set a montly reminder and give it a shot each month.

When you get declined by Cap1, there is no timer that resets so you may request again at any time. They do an AR SP every 3-4 months typically. If it were me, I would pull my free full credit report from annualcreditreport.com and see when the last date they ran their SP in April was, then go ahead and request it a couple days after that same date in August. CLIs from Cap1 have been even smaller than normal lately, but they have still been rolling in, slowly but surely.

Front line reps will have that information.

Capital One has been quite stingy with the love button lately. Since Jan, I've been trying to get one as well and have been denied for the most ridiculous reasons.
