Capital One Due Date, Statement date, closing date?

Apply for Capital One card- late June. I got the card in the mail a week or so into July. I just got an email saying the statement for AUgust is ready but the due date is 28th of this month. When does capital one actual report to the credit report agencies?

They usually report about 3 days later.

My 2 cards are due on 18th. Closing statement and report are the 21st.

Capital one reports on a statement date, but usually they dont report first month.

It's normal for Cap One to commence reporting after second statement.

I am still trying to understand this. I received a statement with the date of July 08th -Aug 03rd. The payment due date is August 28th. When does capital one report your balance to the CRA?

I am still trying to understand the terms "statement due date", "statement closing date" and etc.

They will report in about 2 month or 2 statements after account open. You are looking at end of August or beginning of September, depending on the bureau.

Due date is exactly what it implies. Pay on or before this date to avoid late fee or delinquency. Pay attention to the cutoff time. Set up your auto pay as back up.

Statement close date is when billing cycle date ends and a new cycle will commence the following day.

It would have reported on 08/03, but because this is your first statement, it probably wont report till 09/03.

Due date is the date by which you have to make your payment after statement closes on the 3rd. Days from statement closing (3rd) to due date (28th) are your grace period, meaning there will be no interest charges if you pay your full statement balance.

I suggest you do that with your card, because Capital One starter cards have very high interest.

Also, whatever balance is present when your statement closes on the 3rd of each month is what gets reported to CRAs.

What is the fastest way to pay my bill? As of right now, I have my bank account but it takes 2-3 days for it to process. I've heard people are able to pay with their debit card but for some reason that option isn't available to me.

You cannot pay with debit card.

Pay via checking account you linked, or you could try pushing payment from your bank's side.

You have 25 days to pay, speed is not required.

If you were to ask a Capital One rep, she'll tell you that they report two to three days after the statement date. But because it's the statement amount that's reported, everyone's technically correct.

This might speed up after their payment system gets to know you. Generally, my payments process overnight if I pay before the cutoff time. If I pay in the evening, it'll take another day.

Did you happen to pay on Sunday? Payments made on Sunday take an extra day to process. However, if your due date happens to fall on Sunday, your payment will still be considered on time if you've made it by the cutoff time.
