You can get a lot of credits if you're willing to jump through hoops (not necessarily difficult ones). But they can provide credits for X, Y, and Z on a card because they get a discount on X and Y and figure few people will particate in Z.

For instance, a lot of people won't buy CLEAR (infrequent flyers, people using airports that don't participate, and people who get it for free as an airline status perk). They probably only have to reimburse a small minority of customers.

Loungebuddy is often one of the more expensive ways to get access to a lounge. Given their limited network and inflated pricing, Amex probably negotiated a big discount on the Loungebuddy credit. Nor will everyone use the credit in full or at all.

I think the general consensus is that the UW is the same for any charge

The POT feature and spending power will vary based on your profile

Amex is getting more sensitive to bonus chasing. You might also consider a Delta Blue. Then you don't have to agonize, as many do, over whether to pay a $150 or $250 AF in a year for what may not be your ideal card.

Or would you want a Green or Gold longer-term?
