Paypal Mastercard Purchase Alerts Are Now Working?

I just got my first email alert on this Paypal Cashback Mastercard on a $200 purchase with my alert minimum set to $1 in the Paypal-Synchrony portal.

A purchase exceeding the amount you specified has occurred on your PayPal Mastercard® Credit account.

This purchase was not made through Paypal account. It was a manual card number entry to online store. I'd say that's pretty breaking no? As far as I'm aware, the alerts feature has existed in the online portal, but it's never actually sent alerts out until now. I think Sync has turned a small corner? Can anyone else testify that I'm not hallucinating? Did it work for you recently on smaller purchase amounts?

Great, but other banks send push notifications? Well we can have that too now. Here's how:

When you get your first email alert for a purchase, save that email address to your contacts list. If you have an iPhone, set the new contact as a VIP contact. In the settings app, go to mail>notifications>VIP and turn on banner, notification center, etc depending on where you want to see the VIP alert. Now all email alerts for purchases on the Paypal Card will get converted into Push notifications that pop up in the banner and notifications center like every other bank! Huzzah! Clunky, but it works!

Not sure how this might work for Android and Samsung users, but would be helpful if anyone with those phones can comment below on how you can get push notifications from specific email addresses.

I'm not hallucinating I just made a $5 payment to my utility bill. Email alert sent right away, and push notification popped up within a few seconds after I submitted the payment. Looks like they've activated the alerts functionality properly.

hehehe. Well with so many cards, it's always nice to be alerted when a card has been charged, to be able to identify fradulent transactions right away across how ever many cards you carry.

Huh, that's interesting. I've had the card for over a year and never once got a notification. I usually use this as my daily driver, but since I'm trying to earn a SUB, it's on the back burner right now. I'll have to check it out.

It does indeed look like they activated the email portion. I closed my card but I can still get into the portal and if you click the "I want to..." dropdown now, there is a manage alerts option.

Interesting that they removed the cell alerts option entirely though.
