I am unfamiliar with how Barclays address eligibility for SUB if you've held the product before, ie similar to Citi?

I will say that I was denied for this card at 6/24, they didn't state as much but that's how many new accounts I had reporting. With most of them in that current year, so it very well could have been a 4/12 thing. < speculating of course.

Barclays AA card

So I had the Barclays AA personal card in the past. I closed it two years ago as of tomorrow. I am currently at 5/24 (not sure though when my new chase card will post to credit reports so I still show 4/24 at the moment). I also had a barclays business AA card which I closed last year. I had a regular barclays arrival card for years but they closed it several months ago since I never used it and I missed the letter telling me I need to use it to keep it open. Any issue getting the bonus on the AA personal card again? It doesn't share a lockout with the business product correct? I messed up with my citi AA business and in the heat of the moment I closed it and then realized that I could really use at least one AA card for the benefits and to add miles to my account. I think Barclays rule is 6/24.

I'm pretty sure the SUB restriction only applies to having that particular card in the past 24 months. The only firm 6/24 I was aware of from Barclaycard was for Arrival+ (which I found out the hard way), but of course number of cards opened can be a denial reason unless one's profile overcomes that anyway.

That's not to say that 6/24 for sure applies to co-brands. Maybe it doesn't.... I also read that Barclays doesn't always impose 6/24 so sometimes you can still get approved if you are over that amount of new cards. I didn't realize they got rid of the arrival+ card that is probably why they were soo willing to close out my arrival card for inactivity.

I think I may go for the AA business card even though its only been closed a year. Its got a better signup than the personal card, it would keep my new card count down because in six months I will drop below 5/24 again and a lot of expenses I have coming up are business related so I kinda would like to keep those on a business card.
