I just got approved for a Discover It with a $6k CL. (This is my first unsecured card, besides a store card in 2001.) I want to add my 17 year old as an AU to help her build credit, as she'll be 18 and heading off to college next year. Do AUs have to have activity on their cards? Can I just stash hers for the next year and give it to her for emergencies when she goes off to college?

AUs don't need activity

But she might as well get her own card too, when she's 18, since the age of your Disco won't be too old

Unless you can add AU to the store card
