Its listed under main page, credit cards. Loged in its not listed for some reason...

Thats 3x points though not 3% cashback. Some points cards heavily devalue the points if you try to use it for cashback dont know anything about this one if they do that just be aware.

The payout is in CURewards points, redemptions including points to cash are managed through the CURewards portal. Not as elegant as AODFCU.

Yes, it works, giving 3% cashback. It's certainly less attractive than AOD

1) Has a FTF

2) No automatic redemption

3) Rates are higher

But since I have it, I didn't go for AOD and I have been happily earning 3% on domestic transactions

The application process was also more of a hassle than usual, but AOD also seems lengthy.

ETA: as part of 2) There is a min redemption, but worse you can only redeem in $25 increments (so if you have $49 in rewards, you can only redeem $25 until you get more)

@Anonymous What's involved with the USAlliance application process? Paystubs and/or tax returns? Do they make you snap naughty photographs of yourself like I've heard AOD makes you do?

The app had none of the selfie stuff, it was just a lot of back and forth with the underwriter. They needed proof of income, photo of green card (and probably license). Some of the time was due to my situation, they wanted earned income which I don't have, so eventually they wanted a joint app with my spouse. Just much longer than any other recent app, which usually don't care about documenting or source of income.

Don't remember about Chex, and I haven't tried a debit card but I don't remember that as an option via the web anyway.

Thanks. Glad to hear they don't require ridiculous selfies. But the proof of income is going to disqualify me as I'm self employed. Rats. I wonder how they can keep up with such a hands-on level of underwriting during the inevitable stampede? I guess AOD managed to do it, somehow.

Yes , I got it in the few days it was on this forum before closure.

Did not know or realize that paperwork that comes with card states: "The 3% is a limited time offer".

Would not have applied knowing it was a limited time deal. (Rumor only -- December)

Sent DL, Pension Checks, SS, Proof of residence (Utility Bill).

Spent almost two weeks on phone back and forth with underwriting.

One question then another a day or two later for a long time.

Good income, high "Ficos", ultra low utilization, no inquires, long history, last card received over 5 year before application. Should have been an auto/instant approval, but it was not. The worst CC approval experience in my history.

They run some other service or services to check your info. I owned outright a couple of houses and 7-8 vehicles and because I had no loans or mortgages it bothered them a great deal. For a while I believed I would be denied a CC, because of being debt free.

The card has worked well for the last 3 months. I have a good amount of general spend and have been receiving nice cashback rewards monthly. Payments, rewards and purchases show up and work as well as most other CC issuers and faster than many of my others. The web pages are simple, non cluttered and only show what is needed. (I like this, maybe to simple for others).

Cashback is in $25 chunks, $25 minimum, $ left on the table, and manual process to receive rewards.

Works well, pain to get, limited time offer rewards card.

(Was a 1% card before this 3% offer)

Don't have it however even with the selfie I would recommend the AOD over this card

PS: I think "longtimelurker " might be mad at me for dragging him down the USAlliance rabbit hole

Same for me. Of course, if your profile can handle the extra inqs and new accounts, go for both. And hopefully at least one will survive as a 3%!

Update:

Membership approved and processed in less than 12hrs of applying, online banking set up quickly

So the VS isn't shown in the options to apply when logged...

So I filled out an app, IDK if it was for the classic or maybe the VS but not logged in... didn't finish it though

One of the reps called me and said I didn't finish, would I like to? I said yes, just that I didn't see an option for the VS, so he put it through for me to UW, also said that I may receive a counter offer for the Classic if ineligible. Said may receive decision tomorrow

I don't expect to get approved because of application and new account velocity but had to give it a shot : ) Maybe they'll approve it with my decently gamed score?

Just gonna stick with Amex and hope for a Chase prequal for the next many months...

FYI they won't do a straight-up PC from a Classic Visa over to the Visa Signature, you have to apply for the Signature (and take a HP) then they'll transfer the CL over and close the old card.
