I wasn't really going to post it in the approvals section, but at the same time, it IS an upgrade after all...

Just got an email from Synchrony, my Paypal cashback mastercard is being upgraded to a World Mastercard. Alongside it, they told me to keep an eye out in my mailbox for a new card, they're finally adding tap & go! From the email, the picture of the card looks a lot simpler, just the paypal blue with the "PP" in white in the center, and a small "world" at the bottom left. I won't know exactly how the new card looks until it arrives.

Anyone else been hit with this email?

Credit Card Approvals is for new credit cards or increased credit lines only. I moved you over to the main Credit Cards subforum which is for discussions about credit cards outside of approvals and applications. 😉

I have a 10k limit. Have not received the upgrade (yet?). We shall see: I like contactless payment functionality, but I can always get that through Google Pay, so it doesn't really make a difference.

Started at $700sl last August. My how we've grown. 660 myfico last summer to 770 now we've had a good year! Lol

No, my limit is $8K and I received the email this afternoon about the world MC upgrade. I've never been able to get them to budge to $10K, and given the economic conditions right now, I'm not poking synchrony for anything. I'll be very surprised if they have me a $2K unasked for CLI - that would be a first from them for me.

Mine says "Cashback" not "World".

(I don't care all that much though, as long as Sync isn't 86'ing me for looking funny or saying "boo", or whatever it is that makes them eject people out of the airlock with no oxygen.)

Don't see anything indicating that it'll be upgraded for my card. Just got an e-mail back on 10/8 that the design was going to change and to wait for it.

Lol, yeah, my baby girl has grown quite well. Im not sure if its going to be a WMC , which would be my first. But heck at least i can take comfort in having that elusive 12.99% apr

wow, thats some growth indeed. If it wasnt for all this debt maybe id see 800 lol but for now, at least my eallets unterior is getting a make over😀

Don't think it is CL related. I just checked, and my PPMC is just a plain MC, with a $25K CL, and I didn't receive the upgrade. On the other hand, since I got a 3% card (USAlliance), this card hasn't seen much use, just using it for foreign transactions, under $100 per month so maybe usage is a factor.

I received the email about my new card coming but I don't see anything regarding the "World" designation. Perhaps some of the new cards don't have that upgrade.
