FNBO?

USPS Informed Delivery shows a mailer landing in my mailbox today that appears to be from FNBO. I'm trying to read some of the wording from inside the envelope and it looks like an invitation to apply for a (new?) cash back VISA card.

I've never received a mailer from them before and have never had an account with them.

While I won't know the details until I get home this evening, I was wondering what others' recent experiences with FNBO have been - for example, is this a legit preapproval, what does their approval process look like, etc.

I'll probably pass on this, as I'm not big on cash back and prefer investing CC rewards in hotel/airline redemptions, and I already use Amex and Citi (Prestige and AA Exec) cards heavily. But, I'm still curious..,

If it's the card that I have received offers for, it's a straight 2% card like Citi Double Cash. Until you open it and see the APR listed, no way to really tell if it is just marketing or an actual prequalification.

My only FNBO experience is the China Airlines Gold card I got in March, which is a separate division of FNBO that handles cobranded cards. I have had no complaints, other than the "use it or we're going to close it" letter I recently received after only three $0 statements. 😂 Application was easy (with the additional step of needing to enter my Dynasty Flyer number before being able to apply) and the decision was instant.

I got the same mailer in the mail and just opened. Seems legitimate but nothing too exciting for me. I did not even know what the acronym meant art first so I had to google it, lol.

I'm in New York. The paperwork only has a listed APR range and it is indeed a pre-approval.

I got some sort of mailer ad from them yesterday. APR range only.

It advertised "prestige" "power" and "privilege"...but no mention of any rewards program.

Yeah I got that one too. A lot of "prestige" in getting a 1% rewards card

So, I got home and opened the envelope. The mailer is for a basic Visa, but with a fixed APR of 3.25%.

I'll pass on this one and save my inquiries for the big boys. But, I could see this being useful for someone wanting to transfer a balance off another card or who anticipates a big purchase and wants to pay it off at a low rate.

Did any of you bite?

Can you clarify if that is a BT offer? If not, I suspect there would be a tidal wave of applicants.

Can you clarify if that is a BT offer? If not, I suspect there would be a tidal wave of applicants.

Lol, if that card had a fixed 3% apr, that would be the lowest ive ever seen and that alone would be worth an app

I got a mailer from FNBO today for a visa rewards card. Just one point per dollar across the board. No need for it so I won't app, but interested to see people's data points if they do...

It did have 0% on purchases and BT until statement closing in January 2022. 3% fee for BT until Jan 22, 5% thereafter. Anyone know how they are on credit limits? It could be a decent card if their limits are decent and you are in need of a BT.

That's the offer I got, and I was instantly approved for $15K. I planned on spending about $1500 on office furniture, so I'll be taking advantage of the 0% APR. Otherwise, I would have passed.

It is, indeed. BT offer: 3.25% on everything.

There is a catch, though: an $89 annual fee.

Like many here, I get credit card offers from time to time. But, I also get

Offers for various internet/TV packages

Life Insurance

Retirement living

Investment seminars

Car sales

etc etc

And I treat these no differently from the cc junk mail. So I am surprised to see such interest in random cc offers here! But then, for all I know, people are also visiting life insurance forums and saying "Die-Very-Old-INC is offering me $90 a month for $100K (45, Male) Is this a good offer?"

Or to sum up my 436th mantra: just because they send it to you, doesn't mean you need to pay attention. You don't buy the car because of the direct mail, don't need to apply for the cc either.....

FNBO rewards visa?

I got a mailer for this card yesterday... It's very meh. 1% rewards with an APR between 15.99-19.99%. I had never even heard of this card and I'm just wondering if anyone has it? DP's for approval? Are they INQ or new acct sensitive? I guess I'm just looking to gather info. The only attractive part is the 0 interest until Jan 2022. But I don't need anymore cards for awhile...

I also got the mailer, however the FNBO.com/apply link that they state doesn't exist, and I am well well outside their geofence (Georgia) so I have no idea why they bothered.

As mentioned in other posts FNBO will offer through their credit marketing department special invitations that waive the geo-fence (seven states). They select potential applicants from a credit background scan and offer them various products.

Some of the MyFicoer's have obtained some good cards over time. Speaking for myself, I got in with FNBO back nine years through a credit marketing program and live ouside their geo-fence.

One of the FNBO talk of the town cards was the First National Bank of Omaha (now FNBO) Travel Elite American Express Card which was only available by special invitation (stopped marketing this card summer of 2017). You never know?!

As to the lack of an actual working website to apply for a special invitation FNBO card, you have a good point! No knowledge on what is the happenings with the site?

It's more efficient to list the states that they do service:

I know that several years ago if you were outside their service area and applied for a core card using your correct address but without an ITA they would HP you and only then deny you for being outside of their service area. I hope someone can chime in and report that they've addressed that.

They do, or at least they did within the last year, offer an online banking program if you lived outside their geofence but membership didn't get you access to their core cards.
