Discover it 2021 5% Cashback Categories Revealed!

Just checked my mobile app and I can see all 4 categories for next year:

Q1: Grocery Stores, Walgreens and CVS

Q2: Gas Stations, Wholesale Clubs and Select Streaming Services
Q3: Restaurants and PayPal
Q4: Amazon.com, Walmart.com and Target.com

Seems like it's *nearly* identical to this year, with the only exception being slight changes to Q2 which was Home Depot (June), Gas Stations, Uber, Lyft and Wholesale Clubs this year.

Omg yes!! Thank you for checking. I've been wondering about 2021's first quarter since October started because I'm not using it much! Too excited w the freedom getting 5% at walmart! Lol i may have already met the $1,500 spend on October alone lol! That's great for Discover. 1st quarter Grocery stores, Cvs and Walgreens. Second quarter Gas🤩😍😍

With appropriate MyFico magnification, your life could also be exciting and adventurous! If you max out each discover category after the first year you are seeing an extra $180 a year over using a 2% card, just under 50c a day (IF you max it out every quarter). So please vlog/status update/instragram whatever "Saved 79c on a can of beans [or whatever] today!!!!!!" and you will be ahead of the game.

Yeah. As long as the transactions start with "PP*" or "PAYPAL*" when they post on your Discover it statement, you'll get the 5%. And when you pay via PayPal selecting the card, that is exactly how the transactions post

Also paypal key with Discover (or Chase card when it's a freedom/flex category) codes as well. It works for most transactions that take credit cards online or phone in.

Paypal is the easiest quarter to maximize. Go to Paypal and get a Paypal Key (basically they give you a pseudo-card that works like a Mastercard but pulls from whatever you have setup as your payment method in Paypal). Anything you can pay online with a Mastercard can be paid with the Paypal Key and as long as you have Discover setup in the background, it counts for the 5%.

I agree, Discover has the best 5% categories, and in my opinion is the most under-rated card out there.

I don't eat beans, but if they are on sale, I'll buy them. Lose $1.09 while saving 21c.

I have found that paypal key won't work will Billmatrix for paying health insurance premiums. Prepaid gift cards work but paypal key doesn't .
