Chase credit line increase experience

Has anyone gotten any credit line increase from Chase recently by requesting it? how did it go and what do they normally ask for?>

When you did the CLI thru SM what did they ask? and did you have to send in any docs?

If you do request one please keep us in the loop. There are not a ton of recent DPs on it (at least that I've seen) but some have said that their 5/24 rule is extending to CLIs now, too. You could always reach out to a CSR and ask. The few times I've had to call them they have always been super helpful and knowledgeable. Good luck if you go for the increase!

I have done a CLI on my Chase Amazon Prime Visa. It was in September, and I had to call them. It did result in a hard pull, and he stated such on the phone prior. Went from 5300 to 10k. They asked typical questions like confirm income, employment status, reason for increase. It was approved thank goodness, but I'm gonna leave that one alone for a while.

CHASE should get with the times.

It's tough enough to get one of their cards, and to HP once even TWICE for a CLI IMO is ridiculous.

At least if you are going to make your cards so difficult to get, CLI requests should be SPs.

Considering most people don't get CLI's for years on Chase cards anyways, I figured that was already a thing! lol

I don't understand why you're bothered by HPs for CLIs but ended up with dozen or more on new accounts (which are now preventing you from getting cards you want).

If person truly needs a CLI due to spend, HP or two are a small price to pay compared to a new account that seemed like a good idea at the time.

If one if looking for utilization padding, Chase ain't your girl.

I'm really struggling with understanding HP phobia, but no fear of stacking accounts.

Go ahead and spring for a HP or 2. HPs are like cheap gas grills. They aren't made very well and will fall apart and rust in no time (they only have a 1 year warranty). In 2 years, it will be in the dumpster and you'll need to spring for a new HP.

I dont think Chase even wants to be in the credit card business with this, their absurd cash limits, HPs for everything, they should just shut it all down. Im going to be whacking my limits with them down to 1K on each card to free space for real banks who issue real lines (cash and all) while I can still drain Chase of the rewards......

I am one of those folks you have trouble understanding.

I don't 'fear' hard pulls. I just hate wasting a hard pull on a credit limit increase request. The reasons are simple: they (a) cost points and (b) are completely unnecessary. The lender already has a significant body of experience with me, and has access to all the data it needs through a soft pull.

I completely understand the necessity for a hard pull when applying for a new account, especially if it's a first account with that lender.

I tend to agree with SJ. CLI potential via SP seems to more or less be the norm, at least with the lenders I've personally dealt with and the majority I've read about on here. Chase is my only lender that requires a HP for a CLI request. Key word "request." They don't have to give it. Rather than take a HP (or two) to see the information that they already get with their monthly (or more frequent) SPs, why not just be super conservative with SP CLIs? Make them SPs, but deny 9 out of 10 of them and/or only grant them to those that have a suitable profile and their spend is sufficient relative to their current limit.

I have a $96k card with Chase. Never asked for one CLI.

First I have banked with them over 20 years and have deposit (petty cash savings of $3-5k), investment (only $50k), and credit card accounts . In the past had a car loan that I repaid in less than 12 months.

I opened a credit card with chase about 15 years ago, app"d for a 2nd card (united) five years ago, then a CSR last year. Got high SL on both the united and CSR, but couldnt justify the annual fees, so I transferred the card limits to my oldest chase card (southwest) and cancelled the united and csr in the past year.

The $96k bugs me though, been thinking about asking for a $4k CLI to round up to $100k. Lol.
