Discover APR drop!

So i applied and was approved for the Discover IT cash back last month through online prequal page. The reason I had pulled the trigger on that particular day was bc the prequal listed an APR of 11.99 ! Which would be my lowest by alot. But when i was approved they said the APR was 20.99 which really irritated me but whatever, I had gotten my goal card so i was still happy.

Fast forward to today, I get a secure message from Discover that they dropped my APR to 11.99! Im so excited! Not sure why they went about it that way but not complaining. I try not to carry balances anyway but if i was going to need to, this would be the card i would do it on for sure.

Thats great! I still cant wrap my head around a Disco with a 11.99 apr but am glad they did you right!. Any rewards card with a lowish apr is a winner for sure

@AverageJoesCredit , yeah Im super happy about it! Although i did find out thru chatting with Disco this morning that i cant even ask for a CLI until my acct reaches 12 months old on 10/07/2021!! What the?? That sucks LOL

Ms. DSCO keeps telling me no even though I've been with her for over a year and even the credit analyst was confused as to why as well. Guess she wants more time with me before saying yes

Discover does do auto-apr reductions, and you can ask for them when you are not on an offer... every 6 months unless your on a 0 offer... but its not likely to get them right now since your in their best published tier.. (and your in a 0% on new purchases offer im guessing...)

I believe it is so if it goes any lower you would be below advertised price.

Proportedly there are some accounts below their advertised rate.. but yeah... Its pretty much as good as it gets...

Yeah, it's their lowest advertised rate for new cards, but ppl do have lower. 11.99 is still a very good Disco rate, regardless!

Same situation happened to me, was pre-approved for an APR @Anonymous.99 but when submitted application it stated 20.99%. Last week received notification from Discover that it was lowered to 11.99%. After reading previous post, it seems like Discover is rectifying this and lowering it to the one stated as pre-approved for many of us that applied in the last 1-2 months.
