Comenity Card Minimum Due

Was just looking through my accounts and noticed the comenity card showing $0 due. Didn't seem right as I was carrying a promotional balance from wayfair and I didn't remember making a payment last month after the statement cut. Checked transactions and confirmed I didn't make a payment after statement cut. Downloaded the statement and saw a minimum due of $29 and made a payment.

Anyone else notice their minimum due being wrong?

My Comenity statements will cut this weekend. I'll look and see if it's anything like yours.

Thanks, bud. There's always a possibility that the size of my last payment (over x10) was big enough to allow me to skip a payment, but I don't ever remember seeing that with comenity. I made a payment just in case it was a portal error.

Also should mention that my $100 statement credit "sub" shouldn't have counted as a payment as it happened before statement cut, as well.

Agreed on both counts. I'm thinking it was a glitch though. I've had payments as high as $400 against a $59 minimum with them and still had a min due the next month. Their sites are screwy sometimes. Wife has a Boscovs card with them with a $1500 limit. She bought $380 worth of home stuff and it was showing her available credit as $743. It took 4-5 days to self-correct.

I think the extra payment was smart just to be safe. I'm pretty sure my statements will cut sometime on Sunday so I'll share what I see when that happens.

Just pay it. Better than finding out from alerts that you have a new late.

How long has it been since statement cut? Sometimes if I look at accounts immediately after the close they will show no payment due. If it's been at least a day, that's not an issue. I only have one Comenity card (BJ's) and haven't used it for in-store since May so I have a $0 balance, but when I charge $400-$1000 a month on it (pre-pandemic except for Freedom 5x quarters or if buying alcohol/tobacco that earns 0% instead of 5% on the card, and then AR via ApplePay for 4.5%) I still see a minimum payment due even though I always pay that account in full.

I did, but with all the new conversions to this card, I wanted to get it out there in case someone else was thinking of skipping the month because of a $0 balance.

@Brian_Earl_Spilner my Overstock statement cut this morning. Min payment last month was $40-50ish I think, as I have a couple of watches on 0% from last spring on which I'm currently whittling the balance down. Last month I paid $220 against the remaining (at the time) $960 balance. Today, new balance is $740 and I do show a minimum payment due.

I think your lack of a payment due was a glitch on their part and you definitely did the smart thing paying anyway.

I realize this is a late reply, but - OP, did you have a large points redemption after the statement closed?

I did notice that my minimum due showed $x, then after I redeemed a point balance of $y for account credit, my minimum due then was $(x-y).

Comenity is the only card I have that appears to do this; the others all reduce balance but not minimum due if points are redeemed for account credit.
