Amex, reallocating available credit ?

How often can you request? 30 days from last request or 30 days from date of the last reallocation? Also it's for Personal to Business and Business to Business.

Also, do cli requests affect the date you can ask for a realloction as well?

Should this be in Business credit?

It's reallocating from Personal to Business but.......

Not sure that I can help, but wanted to add my two cents onto this..

I got a 3x CLI on my Amex ED (per) and then a few weeks later tried my Amex Biz cli and the letter said too recent of a request- implying they merge personal and business requests into the same theory.

@GApeachy, I think it is 30 days from last reallocation. (I could be wrong?)

I will add, I once was turned down for reallocation due to "excessive credit seeking behavior"

I just waited 90 days and it went through no problem.

Here's something else that's confusing to me. Is it 30 days from last Reallocation or 30 days from last request.....I got 2 different answers. Yes and No😏. Plz don't say both🤣

And, the timeframe is they only allow a reallocation every 30 days. So, if you are successful in reallocating today, you must wait after 30 days for the next one. Reallocations do not reset the CLI clock btw @GApeachy 🍑😁

I actually got a letter stating this. I called for the date and was told since I requested again, though denied, I had to go by that date. The letter states reallocation every 30 days. Is the letter correct or no?

Your Amex online account access has a "Transfer Available Credit to Another Card" feature under "Account Services/Payment & Credit Options". When you select the account you want to transfer from, it will populate the permissible list of cards you can transfer to.

Thank you, that's how I did it both times. 1st accepted, 2nd denied....then I got the denial letter. I call and CSR gives me the exact date of reallocation and I can submit again since it's been 32 days since the one and only reallocation was granted. Problem is the CSR strongly advised against it stating I had to wait 30 days from date of last request, not last reallocation. Really? This next request is from a different card btw.

It can definitely be done every 30 days on one card; there is no calendar reset if it is declined for some reason.

The denial letter did state 30 days....."You cannot reallocate credit limits between your accounts more than once during a 30 day period."

I'm being told to wait close to 3 extra weeks even though it's already been 32 days. WWYD? Smash it or wait? Are there any repercussions?

I've received that letter before (did it too early, tried again the next day with no problem but still got the letter from the first try)! There are no repercussions. If you think you're eligible to reallocate, go for it.
