Amex offer credits not posting

Generally, any time I have made a purchase with an Amex offer, the credit will post the next day or a couple days later at most. But I've made three purchases recently that should have qualified for offers that I added, and I haven't gotten a credit for any of them. The oldest one was two weeks ago, and the newest one was four days ago. All of the charges are posted, not pending. Am I just being impatient, or should I be concerned? I'm guessing if I were to ask CS about it, they would tell me I have to wait 90 days because the terms say it could take up to that long, but I've never experienced it taking anywhere close to that long before.

I've seen this with the new dining credits on Hilton and Delta. Used them last week and they posted several days ago but the credits are yet to post. My experience mirrors yours, that historically they've posted quickly. I'm curious to see how long it takes as well.

I say you should call Amex and inquire about this. I've had to call them back when they were running the Shop Small promotion last summer. I had bought things at an eligible business and weeks went by without me getting my reward. I contacted them and they acknowledged that the purchase was eligible and a credit should've already been issued a long time ago but for some reason their system didn't issue the credit. They manually gave it to me.

Amex has spoiled us by typically posting credits very quickly but do note the terms most often say to allow 8 or 12 weeks.

Compared to how quickly the credits normally post, yes, they are a bit lagging. However I do believe they'll show up...even it is a bit longer than what we're used to.

We've definitely been spoiled by "8-12 weeks" statement credits posting almost immediately. Many of the recent Amex Offers and other new credits added to various cards have been taking longer (1-2 weeks) to post so far in 2021, but certainly nowhere near the 8-12 weeks that the offers themselves state in their terms. I wouldn't bother with calling or chatting until you've reached the timeline stated in the offer. As no one has pointed out any offers taking longer than 2 weeks to post that I am aware of, this shouldn't really be an issue as one will always have 25-56 days between the time of a finalized charge and payment due date (business charge cards excepted as they may have earlier Please Pay By dates), and unlike statement credits from rewards, these credits do directly reduce the minimum amount owed to both satisfy minimum payment requirements and payment of a statement balance in full in order to avoid loss of grace period.

i think the longest so far has been the best buy and paypal credits.

about 8 days from charge until the credit was posted.

This is the most blatant case of intentional infliction of emotional distress I've ever seen since my suit against the film The Neverending Story.

As others have mentioned, my family has become spoiled with relative quick credits from Amex offers. However...

We utilized the GoPro offer from Amex ($70 off purchase) on 2 different Amex cards before Thanksgiving last year. The credits hadn't shown on either Amex account, and from looking at online discussions it seemed the credits wouldn't be honored for what I would consider shady business practices by someone other than Amex. I was waiting on the 8-12 week time period before hounding Amex.

Low and behold, both accounts got their $70 statement credits today! That's 3 months aka 12 weeks. I'm super excited about not having to let my Dark Side expose itself.

For what it's worth my $99 credit posted today from the Motley Fool offer. It was 12 days from transaction posting to credit received.
