Truist (formerly BB&T) Credit Card Payments

Does anyone know how to setup payment from a non BB&T account? BB&T reps tell me it can't be done only thru bill pay from x bank to BB&T.

Look for top nav- Dashboard, Accounts, Transfer, Payments, etc.

Click Accounts. Select account.

On right side look for vertical menu: Make a Payment, Card Controls, View Statements, etc

Click Make a Payment.

Should then give option to pay from BB&T Account or Non BB&T account.

Should be good from there.

Visit the BB&T site (preferrably from desktop/laptop for best results)

From the Dashboard main page, select the card to make the payment

To the far right, select "Make a Payment"

In the payment selection screen, select Non BB&T Account

Then, simply fill out the rest of the form before advancing to the next screen.

Two items to keep in mind:

-Double-check all of your inputs for errors (routing#, account#, name, etc.) and before submitting.

-The information will not be saved/stored for any future payments. You'll have to enter it every time if you wish to make a payment directly from the BB&T portal (this could change in the future with the transition to TRUIST, but no one knows yet).

Thanks, may be I will get lucky. If I have to I will setup a direct deposit and split mine from my main account.

Also, you can set up autopay to pull from your outside bank for minimum, full, or x amt.

Agreed. Only Bank I have ever seen do this.

Hopefully when they fully become Truist, that will change

Nope that's what I hate about them . You have to enter your account number from the bank you are paying with EVERY time 😡😡😡Hopefully the merger this will change

I did, BB&T told me that I have to do Billpay in order to pay the card.

Ok. So, as mentioned upthread, you can pay from an external account - just can't save the payment form/data on the BB&T site.

Also, just to avoid any confusion in the future + to avoid duplicate topics, you can always search under your profile (under the section at the bottom Topics I've Participated In) to ensure the same topic hasn't been already addressed.

It has been one of my, and many people who have expressed the same, biggest beefs with them but it looks like they finally fixed it. You can now store non-Truist methods of payment instead of having to enter rounting and account number for every payment! Sounds like a little thing but it was rather annoying. Made payments on all 3 cards in less time than it would take to pay one. Yay for progress!
