Not easy.

You can only cancel by calling the number on the back of the card. They only have one option - "Press 1 to speak to an agent" - and then you're on a silent hold for 10 minutes before the call disconnects. Tried social media contacts too. Crickets.

Finally called the collect call number on the back of the card, spoke to an agent, another 15 minutes on hold. They won't do credit line increases, APR decreases, and you can never have a card with them again after cancelling.

I was a bit surprised by that last part. One shot deal. But, after several days of struggling to cancel the card I'm convinced that it was a good decision. Great for building credit back or starting out but it goes nowhere after that.

Rant over. Apple Card gave me another $1500 increase which easily offsets the lost $2000 available credit which was paid in full...two months ago and still hasn't reported to TU/EX/EQ.

I honestly wouldnt recommend them due to their weird processes. Eg, I tried to see if I would prequalify back in '19 but the application error out and kept erroring out (including the emails it would send to remind me of the application). 30 days after that it stated im not prequalified but now because of that they wont process it again pretty much blocking me from submitting any application with them (though im glad I didnt take the HP for it). Same likely goes with anyone who is denied a card with them so im not surprised they would not allow you back after cancelling the card and honestly probably for the better because I feel they arent as attractive and as friendly as they initially let on to be.

The next day I get an email from a CSR telling me why they needed my bank info, etc. and I told him I wasn't willing to do that. He sends an email back telling me if I didn't finish the process that I would never be allowed to have one of their cards. I replied that if I had any doubt about it, that statement insured that I would never have one of their cards. 🤷‍♂️

It was a weird process for sure!
