Firestone CFNA max limit?

Last week I requested a credit limit increase for my Firestone card. It is currently sitting at $4,500. I was denied. I asked the agent what their max limit is and he stated $8,000. Got my denial letter in the mail and it stated I was denied because I have the max limit of $4,500 already. Any thoughts on this? Does anyone have a higher limit than $4,500?

Maybe it meant $4500 is the max for your account... which could be held back by any constraint such as income or anything else profile-related?

My wife's card is $5k exact. I don't think that's ever changed and she would never request a CLI.

She's had it a long time we have them do all of our checkups and most of the little work on three cars via the store card.

I recently applied for a CLI also. Been at $3200 for over 9 years . Had a large repair pending and was deciding between 0% 6 months with them or 15 months at 0% on another card. Since I am starting a large remodel project I chose to see if I could do a CLI ( I have never requested one online or via telphone agent with them in the past). Phone agent said Soft Pull so I gave OK to proceed, she put me on hold came back asked a few income and housing questions and placed me back on hold . Came back on and said denied . She wouldnt give any reason. I have had the card for 9 years 4 months , used the full credit limit more than once and always paid it off during promotional period. My FICO 8 range from 759-775 , bank card scores are all upper 740-770 .Total Utl is 14%, Thick file 20+ years with AAoA 7.6 , substanially higher than avg income , DTI is sub 15% . The only thing I can MAYBE think of is I have 2 new cards opened in last 6 months 4 and 6 months ago both at 0% Utl . Cant wait to see the reason codes.
