This doesn't help the OP, but the thing I'll say about SunTrust Bank (and BB&T Bank) is it will be interesting to see if/how their credit card offerings change once the SunTrust and BB&T credit card units are integrated in late 2021/early 2022. The merged bank is one of what I call the "Second Five" banks, which are the consumer-oriented banks (i.e. banks with at least hundreds of branch locations) that are much smaller than the "Big Four" banks (which in decreasing order of deposits as of 12/31/20 are Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Citibank) but much larger than all other consumer-oriented banks in the U.S. when measured by deposits. Those five banks, in decreasing asset value order, are:

*U.S. Bank

*Truist Bank

*Capital One Bank (I combined their credit card division with the main bank itself for classification purposes)

*PNC Bank

*TD Bank

Among those five banks, Capital One is a major credit card player (one of the "Big Four" in the bank credit card space, along with Chase, Bank of America, and Citi; if American Express and Discover are included the group becomes a "Big Six"), U.S. Bank and PNC Bank are moderate credit card players, and TD Bank is a minor credit card player. Both BB&T and SunTrust, especially the latter, are probably best classified as "minor players" right now in the credit card space, but that could change.

Incidentally, I'm not super familiar with SunTrust's credit card offerings, but from what I have seen from looking at their website as well as BB&T website, I'd say BB&T has better offerings.

I've had bank accounts with them in the past. They are alright.

I only have a CC with them presently.

They use EQ FICO 8 Banckcard for CCs.

Not very sensitive to new accounts or inqs, if my memory serves me right.

They don't give CLI's out of the blue, from what I can tell. You have to call in and request. Which will most likely be a HP.

Nothing out of this world about the CCs. They function like they are supposed to. 😆

Not a close happy lender, as I've had nearly no use on this card in several years.

SLs aren't going to be off the charts.

They remind me of Regions without all of the banking fees.😁

They do have decent rates on other loans under Lightstream.
