AMEX Sub Question

I missed the opportunity to reach the minimum spend for my AMEX sub. I was wondering if I upgraded the card will I have a chance to get a sub again or will have to open up a second card?

That would depend upon the conditions of the upgrade. When AMEX extends an upgrade offer it is usually tied to a SUB-like incentive which is explicitly spelled out within the offer. If you initiate an upgrade request that isn't tied to an upgrade offer don't expect an incentive.

If you are thinking along the lines of a "if I uprade will it let me requalify to get the original Delta Gold bonus" no, that ship has sailed.

Usually the SUB for the Delta Platinum is superior to incentives tied to a Delta Gold -> Delta Platinum upgrade offer.
