Hello MyFico peeps, I have finally decided to close my first credit card. They were the first to help out with my bad credit (500s). I called to see if maybe they can waive the AF and monthly service fee for having the card ($7) but was a straight no. Bad customer service. I'm glad to be done with them but sad because my overall credit utilization might lower my score. I was thinking of applying for another card to make up for the $350 CL from total Visa but might just garden a bit. What do you guys think I should do? Garden or apply for another CC?

•Self secured card $450 (oldest credit card now) 0 balance

•SECU( my work CU) $500 secured graduates in October or so they told me $100 balance will be paid next week

• Cap1 $300 0 balance (got this year March)

• discover it secured $200 $3balance (got this year March)

• credit1 $300 0balance (in the sock drawer)

I have over 15 inquiries due to car dealerships pulling my credit but most will fall off in may/June.

Congratulations on your card closure. It wouldn't be bad to garden to let your current lineup age.

While in the garden it may not hurt to become a member of a CU or two.

CU's to join for Savings Rate now and possible Credit Products later!

Fico 8 scores from Experian and discover app

Experian 655

TU 631

EQ 630

all the inquiries happened in 2019 may-June while trying to apply for a car loan with bad credit. All or most of inquiries will fall off by summer time

I have a savings and secured card with my work credit union. Schlumberger Employees Credit Union. They told me in October I should qualify for their unsecured card. I would like to join Pen fed but I don't know qualifications and the I'm not military so I can't join NFCU

@fbc200384 Current data points show becoming a member with PenFed should be a SP inquiry on EQ. However, always expect a HP inquiry when joining a credit union. No military affiliation required. You may be required to donate to an association. You can become a member over a telephone call or online. I would suggest join now and let your account marinate.

Remedios, you don't know about Blispay?

It's a defunct card that is for some reason still reporting. Lol

I applied to PenFed and got approved for membership within a day with no HP. Now I have two Credit Unions. I will garden and hopefully I can receive offers in the near future.
