It's still a Visa.

But aren't all Venture cards still Visa anyway?

I wouldn't say "all" Venture cards. I'm fairly sure there are some in circulation that are MC/WMC/WE.

When they were flip-flopping networks (back in the day and before account combos ceased - pre 2021), I had a Venture WMC that eventually converted to WEMC. I'm fairly sure it would've stayed as WE today despite Capital One switching Venture CCs to V/VS.

+1

Just chiming-in that my current QuickSilver WEMC started life as (i.e. was first approved as) a Venture WEMC.

For our newbies, there used to be jokes on the forum about Capital One "FrankenCards" since it was possible to end up with nearly any combination of various products with both MC or Visa via PCs regardless of what they were currently offering or had ever offered.

I actually have one of these 'FrankenCards' myself in a Savor Platinum MasterCard, which as far as I know has never been offered as a new account (I think all new Savor accounts have been WEMC). I've also seen a couple of Savor Visa cards around the forums that were attained by doing product changes, and I'm fairly certain that a Savor Visa has never been available with a new application. (For those who are curious, my Savor started off as an Orchard Bank MasterCard years ago and is grandfathered with no AF.)

TL;DR: Capital One isn't know to change a card's network, with one notable exception (see below).

@Horseshoez wrote:

@notmyrealname23 wrote:

Both.

There's no logo when I go on the application page and when I read as I scroll down, it says "Visa or Mastercard benefits."

I'm asking because I'd like to fund my BBVA and for credit BBVA only takes Visa. It'll be an easy and quick sign up bonus if it's a Visa. Otherwise, I'll probably just use my PenFed Power Cash Rewards.

It can be either. Both of my capital one quicksilvers are Mastercards that were originally platinum Mastercard. The logo for mastercard is on the back of my quicksilvers as well as the number.

Furthermore, Cap1 frequently switches their products back and forth from network to network. It is actually supposed to say on the top of the application page. Which card are you rerring to? I can make it easier on you and provide you with the cards that they are currently issuing as Visa: Venture, VentureOne, Journey, Spark Cash, Spark Cash Select, and Spark Classic. All other Cap1 products are currently being issued as MC.

Also, I apologize as I did not see the "Quicksilver" in your title, I only read the Capital One part. The QS changed from Visa to MC beginning in early 2020. Cap1 flip flopped both the QS and the Journey at that time.

Previous to Feb. '20, the QS was issued as a Visa if your SL was<$5,000, or a Visa Signature if your SL was>$5,000. Now all QS cards seem to be issued as a WEMC regardless of SL. QS1 is, and always has been issued as a platinum MC.

My wife and I both got approved for a Quicksilver card this year, my credit limit is under $5,000 and is simply a "World" card, hers has a limit over $5,000 and is a "World Elite" card.

That's a good DP, thanks! I've read a couple of $300 approvals for the QS recently that seemed to result in WEMC. Wonder what causes the difference? We'll probably never know. Something in the decision of how the ABS is funded that they use for the card, maybe? Probably something way beyond my understanding.

Both. I have changed two cards (a Platinum and a VentureOne, originally a Venture) into Quicksilvers. Ventures are issued as Visas.
