After a long wait US Bank is finally releasing the Connect card that was rumored to first come out last year before the pandemic hit, then supposedly changed to January earlier this year. After that no show it was feared it was going to just be a legend told through the credit card stories of lore until now. Per DoC:

"Altitude Connect will launch on May 10, 2021. Comes with 50,000 points signup bonus on $5,000 spend within 120 days."

About time for me to step out of the garden now 🤫

Maybe the first-year annual fee waiver for in-branch applications only (like current CSP)?

@Remedios, unfortunately yeah since Texas has no branches 😐 so I'm counting on it being launched both online and at physical locations like the Go. Otherwise it'll be the ultimate chicken emoji block after all this waiting

The point structure is very different from Go to Connect, i wonder if you're able to downgrade from Connct to Go if it's not working out for you?

I know from experience that you cannot PC cards, espcially if co-branded.

Might consider replacing my Gold with the Go anyways and save 130 a year, because it doesn't look like I'll be using my MR for a few years.

Points are not transferable, AR already has 5x on hotel and car rentals through their portal, dinning is now permanently 3x, mobile wallet is also 3x, and I have multiple cards that offer a whole lot more on dinning, groceries etc.

Cellphone protection, got that.

Precheck/global entry, I only have that on 5 other cards.

Streaming, it's all prepaid for at least a year since Chase likes to throw me streaming/utilities bone.

It just feels like "Here, take this if you don't want to pay AF on AR" card.

I basically feel like I'd be brining home a brand new ugly baby when it's older, perfect sister really doesn't need a sibling.

Of course, it's super easy to say that now since there is no way to apply today.

I dunno, I will probably agonize till the moment I hit submit button.

But yeah, probably will. Maybe. Don't know.

To me it's everything you mentioned but an emphasis on my own on wanting to app

I stayed clean to get here and I didn't want to waste it away on a spontaneous urge like a Delta card since that will be waiting for me when all other options have been exhausted, like "I rather drink my mirage" kind of desperate. If I hadn't PC that useless Premier to a card that changes my number I'd hit that Premier again but pretty sure clock reset for me on that. Don't know of any other cards I'd want

Don't really need it since I have cards that cover it all like you. But I feel like the Coyote chasing the Roadrunner for a meal when I could save time/effort and just order out and not give Acme all my monies: I've gone this far to quit now so I'm gonna catch that stupid bird if it's the last thing I do

Dining is not permanently 3x. The 3x is through June 30th. Dining is permanent for the travel credit rebates though.

Dining is not permanently 3x. The 3x is through June 30th. Dining is permanent for the travel credit rebates though.

If by rebate, you mean statement credit, yup, and I hate it.

I don't want to spend travel credit on chicken nuggets.

As far as "true" permanent, you're right, it's not, but for me it is since I wouldn't use AR unless mobile wallet was an option.

Mobile wallet is great, indeed, and that's one of the reasons I hate diverting any spend from AR unless it's that other soul sucking Reserve that requires human sacrifice.

Sadly for me Kroger doesn't accept mobile wallet so 90% of my grocery spend can't be used. I just don't use the card for dining since I don't want the credits to be activated for dining. If we don't travel this year I will burn the credit through dining.
