AMEX Platinum Mailer

American Express has finally, truly, and honestly accepted me as member. I got home to this mailer for 100K MR SU bonus, plus 10X on gas and supermarket for first 6 months.

I have no need or use for the Platinum card, but its a real mailer in my name for a premier card. 6 years and 6 months post BK7 not IIBK.

Just wanted to share a happy moment, and a point for those who are just starting the credit journey that IT CAN HAPPEN!

For the Platinum Card? Was it an upgrade offer?

In my page, I only see upgrade offer from Gold to Plat. Is there a way to get offer only for Platinum?

Anyway, having both Gold and Platinum possibly would not make sense.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Yes, you can have both cards independently and obtain the ongoing SUB for Platinum. That said, it only makes sense to have both cards if you can maximize their benefits.

I hope you take up the offer, I just paid my $550 AF and like to think it's going to good use! (those are pretty fancy packets they're mailing out)

Congrats on the awesome invite! I had that mailer in my mailbox too. I believe it's the first time AMEX has sent me an invite to apply for a card. That mailer had a whole magazine in it pretty much! It's a great feeling to get those invites for sure!

I wish I could put it to good use, but I don't travel enough to justify the AF. They did pump some money into the fancy packets, probably all the AF money they collected.

I don't have the Plat, but do have the Gold. I didn't realize there was a way to get your SL online. I called the CSR and they told me it was 25k (at least to start), but could I have saved myself the call?
