Petco pay card

Kind of (to me) a blah card, but Petco and Comentity have created Petco Pay store card and MasterCard. Both have 3% in rewards at Petco. The MasterCard also includes 2% at the grocery store and 1% elsewhere. All rewards are in Petco Pals money.

They do also state they donate to animal charities. Its 25 cents per transaction to Petco Charities.

It's a cute and interesting card, but the fact that rewards expire and that they have value only at Petco makes it a no-go for me.

It's actually a great card if you're a pet owner and all your pet shopping is done at Petco.

BTW the ITA email I got on Wednesday points out that you get 8% back in Pals Rewards online and at "participating Petco locations" if you're also enrolled in the Pals Rewards program (i.e. 5% back from Pals Rewards, another 3% from the card) and aren't enrolled in a "promotional Credit plan(s)", whatever THAT means. As an aside if ordering online you can get an additional 1% via Rakuten.

There is also a $25 value Pals Rewards SUB for $500 in non-Petco spend in the first 90 days.

Sorry for the poor execution on the card Remi, it isn't something I'm particularly good at even under the best of circumstances never mind at 4:30 AM lol

I actually got this a week or so ago. I had the AKC Visa, but that closed which was a bummer. Before that, my Care Credit closed when I had all my synch closure, so I was looking for another pet perks card. My dog is on prescription food which I already was buying through Petco online, so it made sense to me. I also moved some spend from Amazon (like waste bags, treats, etc), so I think this card will go to good use.

My utilization is around 23% overall, with 55% on a BT, so my scores have come down to around 680s, and I was approved for $2050 - kind of an odd number, but oh well haha!

I was actually thinking of this card as I have all our pet food and litter coming through Chewy online auto-ship and I could just as easily set it up through Petco....

Then I realized I'm already getting 3% using AOD... Make it 5% and add veterinary services at 5% and I'd grab it.
