Macy’s store card upgraded to Macy’s American Express

The other day when I logged into my account online, I was given the option to upgrade my card to the Amex version. Yes, I accepted the offer!

My store card was opened in 2018 with a 300 or 500 SL. Today, my limit is 14,900. The past year I was carrying a 5k promotional balance that has since been paid down to about 500 (soon to be paid off) to avoid finance charges.

Current scores across the bureaus 660-680.

Congrats on the upgrade. Does anyone know if you keep the history once you upgrade or if this counts as a new account?

Congrats! On a side note does anyone know if comenity offers anything similar on the ulta card? My gf applied for the card in store and didn't know any better so when asked which one she wanted she simply said I want ulta cc so they gave her the store card not the master card.

Account number changes but history remains. Unlike a Synchrony upgrade , who close the account and open a new tradeline.
