Regarding Silver Medallion, I earned it the hard way back in 2019 as I am on AMEX's bad-boy list (I burned them for something north of $25,000 when I filed my Chapter 13, so I'll be on that list for quite some time to come), last year I only had one round trip before the whole business world stopped traveling so ain't no way I flew enough miles last year to re-earn Silver. Given I had bigger fish to fry, I never bothered to confirm my status earned in 2019 was indeed going to expire at the end of 2020. A few weeks ago I took a job with a new company where I'll be traveling up to 26 weeks per year, so on a whim, I checked my Delta app and was delighted to see Delta had rolled over status earned for 2020 into 2021, so it looks like I'll get to stay Silver for the rest of the year.

Circling back to the AMEX Delta cards and their impact on MQD and MQM earning, I spend enough on my cards yearly to easily push my status up a notch if I had access to say the Gold or Platinum SkyMiles cards, and that has me thinking; some folks here have indicated AMEX has recently been in a slightly more forgiving mood than in years gone by; I'm toying with the idea of trying their Pre-Approval tool early next year after my bankruptcy falls off my record. I'm fully expecting a resounding "Denied!", buy hey, it's only a soft pull so what do I have to lose?

I'm reading the benefits and it says you will earn 15,000 MQM if spend $30000 in calendar year.

then it says you will waive the MQD requirement if you spend $25,000.

To get both, do you need to spend $55,000 or do you get the MQD waiver at $25,000 and then an additional $5,000 gets you 15,000 MQM?

You do not have to hit both. At 25k you get the MQD waiver and at 30k you get the 15,000 MQM;sc

There is also a bonus currently running where you gat an additional 25% MQM's, so 18750 at the $30k spend. You van earn this up to 3 times. I am not sure if that extra 25% is available to all, but I'm pretty sure it is. I just hit my first 30k and hoping to do one more this year.

Good luck!

Yeah I read up on the bonus, just wanted to keep the question basic. But thanks for the heads up.

As far as earning and keeping medallion status: if I earn silver status before December 3st, like say august for example, do I get silver status for the rest of 2021, PLUS 2022? Or does it just extend 365 days from the day I earn it?

And if I get a sign up bonus of 10,000 MQM I better make sure I can qualify for silver by the end of 2021 otherwise they expire?
