In the grand scheme of things, I have thought of completely passing Cap One by...... but......

For a QS Card...

0% APR for 15 mo on purchases and balance transfers.. 3% fee on bt however)

the usual 1.5% CB

a 200$ sub after spending 500$ in 3 months...

no AF

no FTF

This is low hanging fruit for a SUB offer... should i eat crow and app..

I get that offer pretty regularly.

And while it was tempting for a hot minute (I mean, that's an EASY $200), ultimately, having a random card I'll probably never use and reducing my "eligibility" for some other, better long term card isn't worth it to me.

But hey, you do you - $200 for $500 is pretty dang good!

Are you planning to "replace" any of your other cards with this one? Cap One has been very strange in during COVID (low SL, CLD, etc). And let's not forget the triple pull.

You seem to have better cards in your signature line. It would be a pass for me.

I'm a fan of easy SUBs like that one. As long as you're okay with 3 HPs and don't have a history of churning Capital One accounts, I would say go for it.

Add in no BT offers. They used to shower me with BT offers on QS, Spark One & Savor One, but no more. I'm going to close Spark, I was recently approved for the Amex Business Blue Cash 2% card, so 1.5% doesn't cut it anymore. I was also going to close Savor, but the 3% groceries rescued it.

BT offers are still available, not sure their targeting criteria though. I have been receiving the same BT offer from Capital One every month for the past 7 or 8 months, maybe longer. The terms are always:

"By transferring a balance from a higher-interest lender to your Quicksilver account, you can save on interest and simplify your finances.

With this offer, you’ll enjoy

0% APR for 12 months
2% transfer fee

After that, any remaining balance returns to your Purchase APR, which is currently 14.49% variable APR. Make sure your transfer posts by July 19, 2021."

DH has an ongoing offer too, and his always says 0% for 18 months with 3% transfer fee.

If BT is of interest, Capital One seems to still provide some decent options.

In the short term it is a great offer. In the long term the card is not going to be useful and just 3 pulls on your credit and a new account ding for $200. Only you can decide if that is worth it to you.
