Where are my AMEX perks!?!

Hello everybody!

So I am new to American Express (this is my only AMEX card) and received the 125,000 bonus miles/10,000 MQM welcome bonus when I was pre approved.

I am missing that Sub along with my 2 annual complimentary lounge buddy passes (given at sign up and card renewal dates) and the spend $20 on dining and get a $20 statement credit each month offer that is supposed to be available until 12/31/21.

Here are my questions: Where are they? Will they arrive at a later point? Did I get screwed over?

Here is some insight. My account opened in June 1st and my statement ended in June 2nd. I contacted AMEX via the app regarding the welcome bonus and they had me call in. When I called in the rep checked on it and came back on saying "don't shoot the messenger" and that he sent an email off to the welcome bonus team and they should help me in 5-7 business days.

It hasn't been 5-7 business days yet, but the fact that I'm missing those other two perks (or more, these are all I'm aware that I'm missing at the moment) makes me very concerned. I have to spend $5,000 in three months and my clock has already started. If I am not going to get the sub, I'd rather spend $5,000 on one of my cash back cards (Quicksilver or Discover).

I have a screen shot of the welcome offer and I've never heard of this situation.

So, in your opinion, how screwed am I?

You won't receive the SUB until you meet the spend requirement.

I'm not sure about the complimentary lounge passes, one of the AMEX pros around here will be able to help with this.

I'm confused, are you asking where the SUB is on a card opened 4 days ago without meeting spend requirement?

In order to get the 125K SUB you'll first haev to charge $5K in purchases, which will then credit said miles to your account within 48 hours. Generally. As for the other perks someone like @K-in-Boston could probably answere best.

Greetings GreenTnumbNeeded ~ I recently was approved for the AmEx Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant and was told by the CSR that I would receive "my perks" once the spend requirement has been met. My Elite Days were instantly added to my Bonvoy account but I've been a Marriott Rewards Member since 1999 and had Silver Elite Status . . . I'm really excited about the additional benefits and should have applied a long time ago! Enjoy your perks!!!

As others have said, you haven't met the requirements for the bonus yet.

Also just so you know, I hit the spend requirement within days of opening my Amex platinum in April and didn't get the bonus points till last week.

So even when you do meet the requirements it won't be instant.

I am sorry, am not asking where my sub is. I know that I won't get it until I hit the spend. I'm asking if I even am in the program. I have no indication on my account that I have any sub that I'm working towards.

There is nothing showing how much I've spent towards the sub, how long I have left, or even what my sub is.

There is no mention of it anywhere on my account. That is what I am concerned about. I don't want to assume that I'm going to get it and after dropping $5,000, find out I am not qualified for it or whatever.

So, in short, is it the policy of American Express to not mention anything regarding subs until you hit the spend and it magically appears on your account?

In addition, where am I able to get the dining credit and how do I get my guess passes for the skyclub?

Don't sweat it man, this isn't isn't bad question once you clarified it a bit, was definitely a little confusing in your first post.

There will be no indication in the account or anything like a progress bar. The easiest way I have found to check on it is to login and open a chat and ask them if you have one and where you are at on it. Person in chat will be able to tell you specific details and it won't take long. Amex chat is one of the lenders best features IMO I use it a lot.

To receive offers such as statement credits you would need to enroll in that offer - when logged in your AMEX account click on "Amex offers & benefits." This will show you all the offers that your account is currently eligible for. Once enrolled you simply need to make any qualifing purchase to recieve the credit.

For the 2021 monthly dining credit - unless they altered the program at some point you would have to have been a card member prior to 1/21 to be eligible. If this was changed I trust someone will correct me.

For your sky club passes -

Delta Sky Club One-Time Guest Passes

Upon account opening and each year upon account renewal, a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Basic Card Member will be issued two one-time guest passes for complimentary access to the Delta Sky Club. The one-time guest passes will be available to view in the Card Member's Wallet in the Fly Delta app and in My Profile on delta.com under Certificates, eCredits, and Vouchers. Please allow up to 72 hours for deposit. On rare occasions (for example, when the name on your SkyMiles account doesn't match the name on your Amex account), the timing of the deposit could be delayed.

Thanks, I have found their chat to be great and they're the ones who had me call in. They may have misunderstood what I was trying to say as well. I'll message them tomorrow and word my question to them better. 👍

They gave me a new skymiles account number and I had them combine the accounts. I'm still waiting for my previous miles to transfer to my new account. Perhaps that is slowing the process down.

Interesting... there was a progress bar + dollars spent/remaining info panel in place of the congrats message before I met the spend.

..I can't recall if there was something similar for the BCE SUB back around Dec/Jan.

I guess it's because the delta card isn't an amex core card?

I spoke with them on Monday before I left for a wedding in Miami and they confirmed that I am earning towards my sub and that it IS for the 125,000 miles/10,000 MQM.

What a relief. A progress bar would be nice in the cobranded cards.

Is that new? I've done lots of Amex SUBs and I've never seen anything like that.

Every SUB I've ever gotten from Amex or anyone else was pretty much flying blind. No indication of any kind of progress or that I was even getting a bonus. It just showed up when I hit the spend requirement.

I don't know about other cards but it's there on Delta Reserve.

It's not tracking SUB per se, but it tracks the spend towards status boost.

Since OPs card is new, it can be used for the same purpose
