AMEX Annual Fees not posting

I've posted about this topic before, but this is a new one even for me. Perhaps I shouldn't even say anything but it's just baffling me. My annual fees haven't posted on my Schwab Plat nor my Gold; which have passed 13 and 12 statements respectively since the last ones.

I'm not naive enough to think I'll get away with this, but it's kind of annoying me since I've been ready with my budget and they...just haven't shown up? I'm not military, I don't have enough Schwab assets, so it can't be any of that.

Who else has had this experience? Or any thoughts on why this may be occurring?

If I remember right, my reserve af didn't show up until a month after anniversary.

+1 to being a statement after the anniversary. If you look on your anniversary statement you should see a notice about the fee coming the following month. This is from my most recent BPC statement. The card was opened May '20.

Yup mine also have hit on the first statement past the anniversary date.

I went back and took a look at my statements; I see the renewal notice on both. However my Schwab Plat had it on the March (anniversary) statement, and actually two whole statements later there was never a fee that posted. The Gold may post next month but what do y'all think about that?

You could always call and ask a CSR? If they waived a fee for you, it would show the fee billed out and then a subsequent credit to offset it. They would not just skip adding it to the bill all together.

I remember I upgraded sometime April last year, still no AF has posted. My friend told me it was suppose to be automatic, but I'm not complaining if I'm getting free months in lol.

Amex is here to chew gum and kick AFs, and they are all out of gum.

I wouldn't worry about it, it will show up when it's supposed to. If it's one of those situations where you don't want them to report it, call/chat to find out when, then push payment or make one over the phone.

Thank you for all the thoughts, everyone. I'll just ride it out and collect my pennies on the AF budget. I did think about asking someone but honestly like it was said; they'll get their money sooner or later.

I'm posting because I just sucked it up and asked AMEX chat directly.

Apparently! I wasn't notified about upcoming terms changes (referring to the AF bump and new benefits) so the posting of my April 2021 AF was suspended. The rep I chatted with claimed I won't receive it, and instead the April 2022 $695 will be the next one that posts.

If this is true; that's incredible. There's enough value in my math to make a free year more than worth it, even if it was by mistake.
