Is the Walmart Grocery category gone?!

It appears the Walmart app has updated and no longer separates the grocery pick-up items from the Walmart.com pick-up items.
Last week our grocery pick-up order showed up on AmEx as Walmart Grocery and earned the grocery category cash back. This week, it appears it is showing up as a regular Walmart.com purchase.
Has anyone else came across this?

It is a pending charge, but before it would show as a pending Walmart Grocery purchase.

Did you place your order on-line through a browser, or on the phone app? I wonder if it's just the iphone app that updated, when i go online on my laptop, it is still seperated by "pickup & delivery" and walmart.com sections.

This week's order was placed on my phone through the app (which I have done previously and the charges showed up as Walmart Grocery, but I had to select "pickup & delivery" on the home screen of the app, that option is gone and it seems all purchases are just walmart.com purchases now ).

I'll try it next week using the browser.

Your post made me look into this. It appears my iPhone app has updated as well and opens directly to the old hone screen. However, I am able to click on 'Start' in the bottom left to get back to the Pickup & Delivery option.

I have iOS, and mine also works as it should. There's a button at bottom left of app, it brings you to landing page. There you choose Pickup and Delivery, or Walmart.com

The Walmart option also has pickup option. Makes me think you were in Walmart section, so didn't code grocery.

I used to have the Start button on the bottom left, it would take you to the loading screen to choose pickup and delivery or Walmart.com just like you described, however that button has been replaced with "Shop" button and a little Walmart store icon on v21.12.2 on iphone. This seems to be causing all transactions to be routed through Walmart.com instead of the grocery side. You can still order perishables with this option (you used to could only order perishables with the "pickup and delivery" grocery option).

Maybe it's a fluke that will be fixed with a new update? The preview on the app on the app store still shows the old "Start" button in the bottom left, so either they have not updated the screenshots in the app store or it isn't meant to be this way. I'm sure calling walmart to complain I only got 1% cash back isn't going to gain much sympathy from them. Surely I'm not the only person who this has happened to in the last few days.

below is the screen shot of the updated homescreen of the app. Pressing the "Shop" logo at the bottom returns you to the same screen. When you click the "See Times" button by pickup and delivery at the top, it takes you to the schedule to pick a time for the order pickup. This is the first time I placed an order without the old "Start" and then select the "pickup and delivery" option on the loading screen.

"Start" button is gone on iOS v21.12.2

edit: looking back in the app store, new update released today v 21.12.3 with stability fixes, making your shopping expereince more seamless was released. I updated the app to v 21.12.3, still no Start button at the bottom of the screen. Same layout and options that were shown above. Maybe I'm the only AmEx card holder that shops at Walmart.

My app was updated to 21.12.3 yesterday. I'd try deleting and reinstalling. I'm blind, so can't say what 1st tab is named, but my screen reader says go back to landing page. You can also change sections in Menu at top left screen.

@blindambition you are awesome!!!!! I deleted the app and reinstalled 21.12.3 and I have the old screen layout back!!! Must have been a fluke in the app or something, I will find out next week when we get groceries. Thank you for being the voice of reason in my tirade against Walmart's app.

@blindambition my wife works in QA testing, I should have asked her, as she is usually the voice of reason. However when a site or app doesn't work she'll say, "they need a better QA department".

However she can be just as impassioned as me when it involves missed cash back opportunities. We were gathering pitch forks and torches to head to Bentonville Arkansas.

Walmart Grocery Pickup codes "grocery" on the BCP. I'm not sure about Grocery Delivery.

So I use the WalMart app. Click Pickup And Delivery option, pay with my BCP and then pickup from store and I should get the 6% cash back?

Yes and it does work with delivery as well.
