Amex Platinum Bonus

I went incognito and found the elusive 100K bonus! It was so hard to refrain from pulling the trigger on it; if I wasn't already working on 2 SUBs I probably would have. 5k minimum spend though; gotta be ready for that.
I also want to make sure I have some good travel planned for the first year I have the card to really maximize it so I refrained. Anybody else gotten or seen the 100k bonus lately?
Any very happy platinum cardholders want to share your experience?

Remember big changes to the Plat card are likely imminent.

These changes most likely include an increase in the annual fee, possibly $695.

With these changes, it is also very possible that they increase the sign up bonuses.

It’s a good point. And it seems like most people (myself included) are not huge fans of the rumored changes. I’d like the big Amex signup bonus (125k ideally) and some of the status and travel benefits, but for 695 annual fee with the new less advantageous benefits it would be tough to keep much beyond the first year

Per DoC, 125k is pretty standard now. When I tried, I did indeed get the 125k offer plus 10% CB on grocery stores. Unfortunately for me, the annual fee was a HUGE turnoff. IIRC, they said they offered it mostly at the top of the hour, thinking that maybe they had a max offer per hour. I coincidentally did try at the top of the hour, for whatever that's worth.

Good insight. I've seen 75k a lot; 125k is much better obviously; lol. It would probably be worth it for the current annual fee to get that bonus and all the credits you can at least for the first year. But the new rumored benefits and annual fee aren't super attractive; would probably be looking to downgrade soon

Yeah, I'm debating on whether or not to app. I noticed when I went to review their benefits again, on the initial page, it showed 75k, but when I clicked on 'View Details' on the next page, in the middle of the page it said something like, see if you qualify for 125k, so I'm guessing their trying to entice people to app right now.

There is a 150k bonus sometimes available for new Amex customers via the pre--aproval tool.

Darn it, if I was ready to fully utilize the benefits of the Platinum I'd be all over that SUB. I will just have to wait and see if it makes sense when I'm ready to pull the trigger on another AmEx card I guess. My intended big-trip travel dates are still just under two years away.

So I did it... I actually went through RESY, you get the same 125k but with 15x at restaurants and small businesses
