Just logged into the mobile app and saw they updated the SUB.

Man, this is very tempting lol.

Haven't seen anyone else post about it, so just wanted to let all know who are interested.

I am an Amazon Prime subscriber, paid until January. The Flagship credit must be used by Sept. 30. Is there any way around that? One might think you could simply prepay, but I don't see a way to do that on Amazon. I did a support chat on Amazon, and the CSR said it's not possible, though I didn't have a lot of faith he really knew.

I saw it too and I was just about to post about it. Tempting for me too, but I just got an NFCU Platinum for $15,600! I started out with a Cash Rewards at $500, and now that's up to $4,500. I'm currently product changing it to More Rewards. So here is my current Navy setup:

* NFCU Platinum $15,600 at 5.99% and 0% balance transfer for 12 months

* NFCU More Rewards $4,500 at 12.99%

Wow, add Flagship and I would have a great Navy trifecta, to include:

* 0% BT

* 3% groceries

* 3% gas and transit

* 3% restaurants

* 3% travel (with Flagship)

* 2% everything else (with Flagship)

With that kind of CC setup, why do I even need AMEX and Chase? I just got the Platinum last week. So my question is: How long should I wait to get the Flagship? 91/3?

Maybe cancel Prime, hopefully they refund a prorated amount,, then sign back up after a brief period?

You need to wait 91 days and 3 full statements after your last Navy card to get accepted. Otherwise, it will be an instant denial.

Same situation for me as well.

So I'm wondering if the purhcase of a "Gift of Prime" can be made instead of an actual Prime membership directly? The below comes directly from Amazon's page about Gift of Prime (with me placing emphasis on a key section).

"Amazon will send your gift recipient an email on the day you choose along with redemption instructions. The gift recipient can start their Prime membership right away. If the recipient is already a Prime member, the gift can be exchanged for an Amazon.com Gift Card in the value of the original gift purchase price plus any applicable sales taxes paid. I use my More Rewards just about daily, it fits my family's spend well.

It does have a 5000 point minimum redemption for the cash back, I don't really like that but it's whatever.

You can still redeem points towards your balance at any amount.

I've had the card for 11 years and used to be able until 3-4 years ago count reliably on a BT offer coming through.

Instead of a BT offer I got an Amazon Prime for a year credit, which I gladly was willing to take.

On the points at one time they were worth 1.5 if you redeemed them for flights. I would call NFCU and ask for a redemption against a flight I had made. It was 1x everything but 2x for travel. Today its 2x everything but 3x travel. I started noticing I was racking a lot more points with them and then I realized they changed their payout scheme.

One of the best benefits of the card is its one of the few around where they will alow you to have a 80,000 limit if your profile justifies it. The largest balance I ever had on it was 73,600 up to my limit which was 74,000 at the time. Then I paid it off about a year later.

Right. I love that Platinum! I'm turning 10k of debt @ 22.99% into 0% for 12 months - with no BT fee. Later I can use the 5.99% Platinum if I don't have any 0% card offers. My income is up and down so sometimes I need to carry a balance.

The Flagship will be a great way to round out my portfolio. Hope they extend it through November. Currently set to expire August 31.

They won't prorate. The Prime membership stays active until end of month, or end of annual membership. Depending if you're monthly or annual.

I miss the days of Amazon Prime extensions. When they messed something up, the would give an extra month.

How long has the Flagship had its current rewards structure?

That must have been nice seeing all of those extra points showing up lol.

You have good hook-up going with that Platinum, very nice.

I think they'll extend it, the last SUB ran almost a year I think.

There have been a lot members here wondering when a large SUB was gonna return.

I'm gonna check the approvals section and see if anyone has jumped on it yet lol.

In the past, Amazon would issue pro-rated refunds for all full/unused months of prime membership when you cancel.

I suspect that's still the case, though I cannot test it (no prime membership). Any guinea pigs?
