Product change from Delta Amex to another Amex product

Delta isn't my go to airline any longer so no need for that card. Would be open to changing to another Amex card- just don't want a new tradeline... is it possible to change?

Only cards you can change to are with the Delta family - Blue, Gold, Platinum and Reserve. AMEX doesn't allow cross product changes

Does Delta have any partners you could transfer their miles to?

OP could just keep them in their Skymiles account since they do not expire

I'm in a similar spot as you, OP. Once Amex stops offering the $10/mo dining credits, there will be no good reason for me to keep paying $99/yr for a Delta Gold card that has no role in my organic spend.

My tentative plan is to PC it to Delta Blue before the next AF sticks, put it in the sock drawer and keep collecting $5k CLIs every 6 months for as long as possible. If, at some point, it makes sense for me to open a new Amex credit (as in non-charge) card, I will move a big chunk of the limit over from the Delta Blue and either close it or keep it for aging.

I'm a fan of keeping non-AF cards open forever. They help with aging, and one never knows when good PC options will appear to give them new life.

I'm in the same boat with my Delta Gold. I have had it for 4 years, started with a $2K CL and used it a lot nad paid in full the first year, requested a cli to 6K denied twice fo far. Can't justify a $2k limit with a $99 AF. I might close it and see if they would transfer my CL to my BCE.

Not all of it. You can transfer some of it online yourself if the donor card is more than a year old but you always have to leave at least $500 and in some cases at least $1000 on the donor card. It only takes a few minutes to do and there is no hard pull associated with an attempt.

This is a long play, and far from certain, but PC'ing Delta Gold down to Delta Blue leaves open the possibility that you might later be offered an incentive to upgrade back to Gold. It goes a little something like this. (40k MR for $2k spend upgrade offer, with AF waived for 1 year, per Doctor of Credit)

I personally have gone:

Delta Gold - Delta Blue - Delta Gold - Delta Platinum.

All with SUBs (except the first downgrade)

Downgrade to a blue and keep it, it will pay off eventually. I just collected 50k miles + $200 statement credit for a $3k spend on my the Plat upgrade.
