Amex Marriott Cards 10x PayPal up to 50,000 points

Did a search and didn't see this one posted yet. The offer does not show in your Amex account (at least for me), but rather when signed into your Marriott account with one of the two personal Amex cobranded cards linked to that Bonvoy account. It requires opting in, but it's good for up to 50,000 bonus points through the end of 2021 when using your card to make PayPal purchases during checkout. Since it's an 8x bonus, that means you earn the bonus on up to $6,250 of spend.

Thanks for posting this. I tried it and was hit with a 'this is for invited members only'. I am in my SUB period so that might be why I'm outside looking in.

Ooh, didn't realize it was invite only. I just double-checked and did not get an email about it. However, according to the time stamp on my screenshot, I enrolled on the 12th (last Tuesday) after seeing it in the Marriott app, so if emails went out on Monday the 18th maybe I got excluded from receiving the email since my card was already enrolled?

Thanks for the heads-up. When I attempted to register my AMEX Bonvoy Brilliant card for the promotion, I got the "Invitation Only" response.

The promotion also doesn't show up on my Marriott account, even though I just earned Titanium Elite status. So I wrote to Marriott Bonvoy customer service, asking for an invitation. It's not clear whether they send invitations out or whether it's AMEX. I'll post the results of my inquiry when I hear back from them.

Perhaps I didn't receive the invitation because I already use my AMEX Bonvoy Brilliant card enough that they don't believe I need any encouragement! I assume these promotions are meant to encourage greater use of the co-branded AMEX cards. But who knows what the motivation really is?!

Got this. Made a purchase on the 15th and the 8x additional posted to my Bonvoy account today. Won't be able to max this and all three Freedom/Flex cards but nice to have more options. With the additional 4x on the two Flex cards I might not worry about the Freedom and just move spend over to the Brilliant.

Also did not get invite... but I was able to enroll and I'm seeing points.

I think that's probably a safe assumption. Amex sends me email to enroll in things I am already enrolled in all the time. 😂

I wrote to Marriott customer service asking for an invitation to this promotion. They told me this morning that AMEX is managing this offer, so I'd have to contact them.

I contacted AMEX via chat in my account. They verified the promotion is theirs, not managed by Marriott. Here's what AMEX told me:

"These are not Marriott offers however we update and refresh these offers automatically on every account. You may get the same or better offer soon however it can't be done manually. I can submit an internal inquiry for it to the concerned back-end team for you as you are our elite card member since 2008.

I have successfully submitted an internal inquiry for you. Our back end team is likely to update on it within 7-10 working days. Since it is an internal inquiry and you may not receive the update however you can chat back with us to check the status after 7-10 working days."

I don't hold out much hope that this will help, since these offers are extended automatically according to whatever algorithm is in charge. But it doesn't hurt to ask for an invitation!

Well, I'm seeing more and more "Pay with PayPal" links so I'm motoring through my first Chase Freedom amount. Also got some healthcare bills to pay, so PayPal Key is helpful there.

New Freedom Flex should be here soon, but I'll still get more PayPal, so added the Marriott card to PayPal with the offer.
