It's a soft pull on Experian, HP if you continue. 2% back on everything, $200 SUB for $1k spend in 3 months, 0% purchase and BT for 12 months, 5% BT fee. 🙂 Search the board, there are lots of DPs.

@Anonymous wrote:

Citi Balance chased me from a limit over 7k down to $600, so im looking for a new card with a high limit to get my utilization back up.

I very recently went on the hunt to replace my Citi Double Cash too. No particular reason like you, in my case I just had a goal to try and do better than 2% cash back. For the better part of my search, I had dismissed any 3% cards. They appeared to all be only from CUs I couldn't get into, were only 3% for the first year, annual fees, etc. I even e-mailed all of the CUs with 3% CB cards and most got back to me and said they have strict requirements that you live, work, pray, or go to school in these X counties. So, my search was focused on 2.5% cards.

I narrowed it down to the Alliant Visa Sig. 2.5% CB.

https://www.alliantcreditunion.org/bank/visa-signature-card

If there are better 2.5%ers out there, I'm sure others will chime in. I even went as far as starting my application. I was willing to play the game of keeping $1000 in checking and making a monthly transfer into the account. As fate would have it, when I was close to the end, I accidentally closed my browser (Doh!) I had trouble getting back in (yes, they had already ran my credit - boo). I went to bed for the night.

Next day AOD CFU https://www.aodfcu.com/visa-signature-credit-card/ responded back to my e-mail inquiry asking if someone from out of state could join. They had taken some 3 days to get back to me so I figured they were not going to reply. Their reply gave me hope. It said something like it's typically for those who ...blah blah blah.... in Alabama but you can see if you are a member of one of our qualifying clubs. Maybe I was being too hopeful but I took that as a wink! I didn't go back to the Alliant app and focused hard on the AOD. There's more to it than this but, in quick summary, I joined NEABA and was approved for AOD membership and the 3% CB AOC Visa Sig. I'm still on cloud nine.

Anyway, my whole point of this long ramble, sorry, is - since you are looking to replace your daily 2% CB card, why not take a look at getting a 2.5% or even a 3% CB card? Just something to consider. Best of luck!

My scores are 775,767,757 and I dont carry any balances on my cards my current cards are:

Chase sapphire prefered 6k limit

Amex Gold

2 secured cap one cards that I keep for AAOA $1500 total limit

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Any insight for the balance chase by Citi?

I made a few large purchases almost 6k worth paid the entire balance in full 3 days before my mpayment was due,and I guess they didnt like that....and the limit was immediatley cut to $400 I applied for an increase and they increased to $600

How long did it go unused prior to that, or if used what was the typical usage per month? It simply might have set off their alarm that someone suddenly used it to charge a significant amount more that average spend during a time of uncertainty. IMO that seems very extreme to go from $7K to $400 when they could have just halved it and waited to see if it was a one time thing or a sign of taking on more debt. I also supsct that you called in too early for a CLI and that's why it was only $200. You might have to just wait it out with CLI requests every six months and out regular usage with PIF monthly to get that CL back.

I guess it depends on whether this account it worth it to you enough to stick with them and try to get back what was taken, but there are pleny of 2% replacements so there's that. I guess be happy it wasn't a more rare earner. And good luck with the search!

There are plenty of options. Get some of 5% cards in the market (rotationally or by category). If not, get some general 1.5% cards without cap (CFU, BOA PR).
