Those credit card names are as bad as the Marriott card names a few years ago 😂

With that said I'm actually interested in this. Always nice to have some new blood in the credit card game. Depending on when they release more information might just get me to hold off applying for anything til then <STRIKE>but seriously what are those names</STRIKE>

Wells has been very disappointing. By axing the points pooling, they crippled propel and cash wise, now they are just some "me too" cards with very little selling points.

Earn more mall is the only thing that kept me from canceling my wells cards at this point.

It is too bad you didn't get the Propel card in time. I really like that card. I use mine alot. However, I just hope they don't close them down and give us another card in its place. You just never know

Thanks

Mark

I completely disagree, those are awesome card names. Why have a mere Platinum or *Rewards, when you can have a Bayesian or an Immanentize or a Zaphodbeeblebroxiant?

Though I'll still never get any of them, because on a scale of 1 to Wells Fargo, evil is about a 3.

@Anonymous wrote:

It is too bad you didn't get the Propel card in time. I really like that card. I use mine a lot. However, I just hope they don't close them down and give us another card in its place. You just never know

Thanks

Mark

Yeah, I AM one of the people who came in under the wire to apply and be approved for the Wells Fargo Propel, and I find regular use for it, even though most of its 3% categories are duplicated on other cards I own.

One of the big benefits of the Propel is that it gets A LOT of deals placed on it. It gets many, though not all, of the American Express deals (including some of the deals that haven't been added to the Amex-issued cards over the last year, such as the Shop Small deals), plus it gets many of the same deals that show up on Chase's credit cards (deals which I use reasonably often between the WF Propel and the 3 Chase cards I have). There are also sometimes some good deals in the WF Earn More Mall portal. The latter two types of deals would likely still be available on a replacement card for the Propel, but the Amex deals would not, and I'd miss those.

For whatever it's worth, a now-deleted Reddit post that was claimed to have been written by a WF employee gave details about a new "Autograph" card, which largely replaces Propel except it's on Visa instead of American Express. Here were the details:

3X on dining, transit, travel and streaming services

1X on everything else

No AF or foreign transaction fees

Possible 3% on cellular services

This looks very similar to Capital One's SavorOne card, and possibly better for some people. SavorOne's 3% does not include transit, travel or cell phone service, which might be included, although SavorOne does give 3% back on groceries and entertainment.

Of course, until this is confirmed this should be taken with a grain of salt, since literally anyone can claim to be a WF employee on Reddit and then delete their post to make it look like they knew what they were talking about. And giving confidential info like this on Reddit could be a great way to end a career.

(Edited to note that SavorOne's 3% categories do not include transit.)

Looking forward to hearing more about the new WF cards.

I recently started to work with WF and it looks a bit weird bank. I deposited a small check with my mobile to my WF checking and they placed a hold on it for 10 days . When I called rep, they said for the new accounts with <1y, they will do it and they recommended to use ACH, if I need sooner than 10 days. Since their ACH transfer also takes ~3-4 days, all the ways to transfer fund to this bank for a complete 1year look snail 🐌🐌🐌
