So... you don't really have a membership, right? You need a membership in your name to have the Costco card. It doesn't matter if your membership is a household membership or even a Costco employee-given membership‡. As long as you have a membership yourself, you're good to go. You can even change your membership ID attached to the same Costco Visa card.

Your Costco Visa card will serve as your membership card. It will have YOUR membership ID and picture at the back of the card (the photo will be a colored version).

‡(If her aunt is an employee, ask her if she can add another one with your name on it. That is assuming your wife's membership is not a household membership).

Citi Costco Anywhere with Wife's Membership?

Hey all,

This may get a little convoluted but I'll try to explain it thoroughly...

I currently have a Citi DC but want to PC that to the Citi Costco Anywhere card - I've already found that I should be able to PC the DC to the Costco card (still need to call and confirm with the CSR).

The problem? I use my wife's Costco membership... Normally that wouldn't be a problem as I could request my own Costco card, attached to the "main" Costco membership (as I understand it).

The problem again? My wife isn't the main owner of the Costco membership. Her aunt is the owner of the membership and she's given my wife a Costco card that she and I use.

The question is, can I use my wife's membership, even though her name is on it? If so, would I have to add her as an AU prior to PC'ing to the Costco?

I am planning on calling Citi when I'm heading home from work (in about 4 hours) but thought I'd check the well of knowledge on this site.

Has anyone been in this very unique scenario?

Thanks in advance for all the help. Cheers!

I'd venture to say it has to do with the fact you Citi card becomes your membership card (including your picture).
