AMEX PC Question

Recently (today) I decided to do a PC to upgrade my AMEX Gold to Platinum. I would like to know how long does it usually take for one to receive their new card? Will it be sent via UPS/Fedex like how one would generaly receive their Gold or Platinum initially? Also, were anybody able to take advantage of platinum benefits while waiting for their card after a PC? I was told that effective today that I could take advantage of platinum benefits, although I do not see that change on my account (yet?), and I could have sworn I have seen that it would take up to 24 hours, but just want clarification.

You can try calling the Platinum service # 1-800-525-3355. At a mininum you should learn if they've already processed your upgrade.

Which benefits are we talking about? A lot of them are based on enrollment.

When I downgraded the non-Schwab personal Platinum to Gold I was able to use the $10 monthly dining credit. I think I had to enroll. But I definiterly did not have the physical card yet. This was on GrubHub using the old Platinum info.

I'm not sure what would happen if you tried to enter a Delta or Centurion Lounge with a physical Gold card and a digital wallet or Amex app showing it was actually a Platinum. There could possibly be problems.
