New B&H Payboo card - Comenity

I've been waiting to see who B&H move their Payboo product to after ending their relationship with Synchrony and they've finally updated their website today, and they've partnered with Comenity.

Not a great move in my book, I buy from B&H a lot for my business so although I think the idea of a card that combines both finance offer and tax-back is good (I had both Synchrony cards) I wish they'd partnered with someone better than Comenity.

What do you think?

I think you should just be grateful they were able to find a banking partner willing to take on that card's juicy and unusual cash back deal.

Love it!

I have 2 Comenity accounts and way too many Synchrony accounts so that would be a good move for me.

I just paid off the old B&H finance account (12 months 0%) and love it so this Comenity will be a good replacement since it combines both finance or tax free !

Pro tip: If you have an existing Comenity account, log into Comenity first, and leave the tab open. Open another tab and go to the PayBoo Comenity site. When you hit apply, log into your B&H account on the PayBoo site, and you may get a pre-approved pop up window offer (SP) to apply.

I know mostly zilch about this card and for me not into it but not much difference in going from Sync to Conenity. Both lenders can be too quick to shut ones accounts down and my confidence , although im in good standing with Stnc, is not grear in ever obtaining more credit from either creditor. Much rather invest in a CU. My opinion only if course

Not happy about opening a new account, but I spend enough with B&H from a hight tax state (CA), that it's totally worth it. Also my first Commenity card. Or would be, but they won't let me apply. Or, more accurately, they seem to have a problem with the application system. Second time trying and this is where I get stuck:

After clicking "submit" it spins and spins and spins and...

I don't see any posts for Payboo in the approvals area. I'm curious if anyone else has run into this, or have sucesfully applied?

P.S. I have unlocked my reports and also tried an incognito window the second time through.

I applied and it appears I got denied, even though my FICO is 825. Got the "You'll receive a response in 10-14 business days"

This is pretty disappointing since I used the old Payboo card frequently.

Do you have any current/past relationship with Comenity Bank on any other co-branded cards ?

Tried again this morning and application went through.

Instant approval, but only 4k. First Commentiy card and by far my lowest CL. Fico 8 upper 700's across the big 3. Original Payboo was 10k limit.

I've read Commenity can be quick to increase limits, so hopefully that happens here as well.

With your score I would hope it's just an identity verificaiton or something. They pulled Equifax when I applied this AM. Reports uncocked?

Yea reports were not locked. I got a notification they pulled equifax as well.

I applied and only got a $4k limit too - not even enough to cover many of my B&H purchases. My scores are in the 800s and all other CLs much higher. Hoping it increases quickly.

I applied today and got the 10-14 days message, which I hope is just a verification; my Experian FICO 9 is 817 and the only new accounts I've opened in the past six months were a Citizens One Xbox All Access line of credit (which I paid off in full before the first statement period closed) and two Citizens One iPhone Upgrade Plan loans, one for my phone and one for my wife's. My reports are not locked.

I did have a CLI from Capital One recently - they'd lowered my limit to $5K a while back because I never used the card, but they pinged me recently and said I could apply for an increase. I did, and took it up to $15K. But there's nothing in my credit history that would make me think that a denial was even in the realm of possibility.

ETA: My Synchrony CL was only $5K, but that was fine given my usage pattern at B&H. My total CL across my CC accounts is $120,800 and my usage is at 15% right now; that will go down by 3.5% in about a month.

Starting limits on Comenity cards are almost always on the lower end of the scale. $4K isn't bad at all and even for a Visa/MC they won't usually give a SL of more than about $7K +/- but as mentioned upthread it's not that hard overall to get CLIs from them if the card gets some use along with prompt payments.

That's true, Comenity starts you out low and then generously gives out SP CLI if you request every 6 months.

My first Comenity co-branded: Virgin Airlines $2K SL and grew to $8K - discontinued.

Second Comenity co-branded: Sportsman's Guide $7.5K SL and now at $9K - regular spend on outdoors, ammunition, hunting, etc...

When I log into my Caesar's Total Rewards account, I keep getting the Comenity pop up offer for their card. Should be automatic approval but can't get wife to go to Las Vegas so haven't apped

Now, I am waiting for a pop up from B&H Payboo as I don't want to incur a HP. My recently closed Synch B&H had a $9,500 CL so I am doubtful I'll get that SL....

My Sync Payboo card had a 26k credit line, sounds like I'll have a long way to go with the new card if I even get approved.

PayBoo pop up? Popups are still a thing ?

I was comparing some iPads and pricing cart was at like 3.5k and I backed out to remove some to choose the one I want and I got this popup. I am in the garden and tbh a card that just saves the tax or finances the purchase isn't worth it lol. But I guess popups happen with this card sooo
