Have ignored my Everyday card for at least yr. Will receive 40K MR after 2K spend in 6 months for the Everyday Preferred.

I believe I have the same offer sitting on my account, but I am loathe to pull that trigger because I hardly use it anymore; my Amex spending goes to my Gold or BCE.

You can just take the upgrade bonus and downgrade again after a year.

That's why I have EDP (40k MRs) and BCP ($150 and no AF for 12 months) even though Gold makes both redundant.

I have this offer as well but they want me to spend 2k in 3 months before rewarding the 40k. Any idea of why the offers vary?

3 months does seem to be more common, at least on the personal side. All of my past ED/EDP and BCE/BCP upgrades were over 3 months.

Spend requirements frequently vary though.
