Apple Card Beware!!

I just opened the card on 03 Mar 2022 and not my first statement and I was looking for my daily cash back they told me I can put it on my statement if I call in, so if I want the cash back I need to open a cash card with apple and then link my bank account and send it that way no more statement credits like normal banks. Even the rep told me that this is a crazy way to have to redeem the money she said that she had heard that Apple gets a kick back for the way they redeem to the account and make interest off the money if It stays in that for a amount of time. Apple stop making everything a nightmare to use and let the reps have some power to help you out.

My account opened in February 2022, as of this morning I can apply my daily cash to my statement balance through the Apple Wallet. I never opened/set up an "Apple Cash" account (I see a link in the wallet to set it up).

How I can't do that? Apple support is useless they said it automatically applied but don't see it.

Do you NOT want to just open an apple cash account to make it easier on yourself? Cash-back is applied to your Apple Cash account as soon as the transaction post. And as soon as it post your able to use the cash-back to apply it to your Apple credit card account. Not all lenders are the same. Different rules for different cards/accounts.

On iPad or iPhone (running 15.4.1) <<version I'm using, may be different on earlier versions >>

It shows your balance, when you tap it, it asks if you'd like to apply it to your balance... by selecting Yes, it reduces the minimum payment due for the current billing cycle.

@sznthescore I don't see a reason to set up an Apple Cash account as it instantly shows up now in my wallet with the only option applying to current balance... exactly what I do with my cash-back rewards cards... otherwise it just sits there until the account is closed and I lose it all.

Understandable, if you only want to use the cash-back as statement credits. Apple cash card lets you send it to your bank account to spend for something else or simply just use the Apple Cash card.

I don't have a Daily Cash option at all.

It only shows on mine when I haven't used it yet right above a link to set up Apple Cash... maybe @sznthescore can come back and explain how to move the funds from your Apple Cash account to a statement credit and/or bank account.

Set-up Apple Cash. Add your bank account you'd like the funds transfered to or use the balance on your Apple Cash card to pay towards your Apple Card balance. Apple Cash allows one account to transfer funds to at a time (you can change anytime). Apple Card allows you to add multiple payment accounts for payments were they'll pull the funds to apply payment. I've never used my "Payment Methods" setup with my apple card as I use the Apple Cash card for all payments by pulling funds from my linked debit cards then pay on my Apple Card through Apple Cash. That is just it Apple Cash card will not setup at all it's just come back and said "Can't be opened". The final thing that the magr with GS said that I may have to close the account and open a Apple Cash card then reapply and they said the issue is that I did not open the Cash Card first then apply. The cash back is crap anyway I will stick with Citi Double Cash and use the Apple Card for the 0% when I buy a Phone / Macintosh.

I traced this out of curiosity and found my Apple Cash is linked to a closed checking account. Yikes!

So I deleted that reference to the closed checking account, set the link to the correct current checking account.

I don't recall ever setting up Apple Cash, either prior or after applying for the Apple Card, and I've not noticed any marketing / application materials that suggest we need to have an Apple Cash setup prior to applying for the Apple Card.

It really is very simple, when you make a payment it automatically deducts my cash back as a payment! I don't have to do anything, I can do it daily if I want or whenever!

If you have an iPhone that Apple Cash Card should automatically show up in your Apple Wallet with the credits showing up automatically on that card. Frome there you can use them from that card or apply to to your balance

It is to my understanding that one must have Apple Cash in order to get the daily cash-back. No other method to receive the cash-back daily is mentioned or offered to my knowledge. I guess all things apple and products working together...

I had a similar problem before not being able to open an Apple Cash account. The issue was that your only allow to have one Apple Cash account.

Whether you opened your Apple Cash first or not shouldn't matter as every is attached to your Apple ID.

If 0% financing is your only purpose for the card, then setting up and external payment method and having funds pulled to pay on your card is the next best option. About your cash-back that's not worth it to you, I know of no other method to redeem them other than Apple Cash.

All you need to do is turn on Apple Cash in Settings. It only takes a few seconds. Apple Cash allows you to send money to your friends via iMessage. All money sent to you will appear in your Apple Cash balance. It is also where your Daily Cash will appear upon posting of transactions made with your Apple Card. You will earn 2% Daily Cash on all purchases as long as you use your device. Unlike other 2% cash back cards, Apple Card can be used anywhere in the world without being charged extra. The EMV contactless standard is the same everywhere you see the EMV contactless symbol. At the following merchants you will earn 3% Daily Cash as long as you use your device:

Apple
Duane Reade
Exxon
Mobil
Nike
Panera Bread
T-Mobile
Uber
Uber Eats
Walgreens

In your Apple Wallet will be an Apple Cash card containing your balance that you can use anywhere contactless Discover Debit is accepted. If the terminal asks for a PIN for whatever reason, it is 0000.

@Credit12Fico- the OP simply asked a question to see whether the other option was available. And, evidently there is. While you may not feel this is a problem, the forum is also about other people and the OP felt they had a valid question, that's all. Whether it gets resolved or not, that's up to the OP and GS/Apple Card to work it out. Other members were trying to help. Otherwise, you are aware that this topic (or any that doesn't align with your views) can simply be passed on.
