X1 question on charge denials

I anticipate getting an invite for an X card in the future. I saw a reddit thread where several people complained about having charges denied. Seemed like a common issue at least among the reddit crowd. Anyone here have head scratching charge denials on the X card?

I have had the Venture X since day 1. Never had a purchase declined. I don't engage in MS or other types of purchases that will draw attention to how I'm spending, though.

You "may" want to verify they were talking about the Capital One Venture X card and not the X1 card issued by a different bank. Some X1 cardholders have discussed issues with that card such as odd transaction declines and statements from the issuer of potential rewards abuse

@wingennis - Pardon the ignorant question (and, make no mistake, I am 100% ignorant here - thus, the question) but you stated that "...don't engage in MS or other....". What is "MS" in this context?

MS = Manufactured Spend. I believe it's off-limits for discussion on this board. Google it.

It is an abusive spending practice. I'm sorry I brought it up since I know it's a disallowed topic. You should be able to do a google search for "manufactured spend/spending". Please disregard my comment since you were asking about a card I don't currently have.

I have had one charge denied and I was able to go into the app to approve it and the company ran it again and it went right through. We were buying several things online from different places and the card was fairly new. That was the only time. We have used it domestically and internationally for orders and travel and not had any other declined charges.

I was approved for my X1 yesterday. I loaded the card into Samsung pay, downloaded and set up the app. I went to use the Samsung pay tonight (mind you I still dont have my card yet) and I got a decline due to suspected fraud ($31.50). I paid with another card, and on the way out the store I noticed I got a notice on the app of the decline and was given the option to authorize the charge.

If people are getting declined, they should check the app for more info.
