Barclays transfer from wrong account, but still charged my account

Barclays transferred money from another persons account and charged my account!

How does that happen?

Wouldn't you charge the original account?

I responded to a Barclays promo for a balance transfer.

Did all the steps online and waited the 7-10 business days.

No money in my account at the 10 day mark.

Check the transfer history,it was transferred from a different account! Not my account!

I look at my balance and they charged me for the transfer! But it was transferred from someone else's account!

I get mistakes, but this is just bad. How do you transfer from one account and charge a totally different account?

They took from "Joe" and me, where did the money go? Not to me......not to "Joe"

Only answer from Barclays "We'll investigate"

And if they gave you aquck yet incorrect answer without investigating, it would be even worse.

It's an unfortunate error but also one that will be corrected relatively quickly, banks know where their money went.

Give it a few days, then follow up

They did the same thing to me. [Mod cut: @billiejo Please familiarize yourself with the myFICO Terms of Service and read the forthcoming PM. - KiB] It's horrid. They said I have to wait 2 weeks for the investigation. I'm closing my card after this and never going back. Never do the Barclays transfer, they just send the money to themselves instead of your card and then bill you for it.
